I advise looking through most of what Mangascreener, Kotonoha, Omanga and Manga-Sketchbook have to offer. They always dabble in your not-so-usual-fare.

Hmm, you can try Ludwig Kakumei. It's by Kaori Yuki...the plot is quite atypical, like a twisted form of fairy tales. It can be quite a depressing manga, yet comedic.
