I USED to think I was smart. Then when I started high school it was all downhill for me. My laziness does not help me in any way either, since all I do is the bare minimum or less.
Whats with hating on the asian kids? Most of us have to try hard because we get screwed when trying to get into college because of all the rediculously smart/studious people that are asian. aka my outlook for a good college is looking grim 😔

same here when it comes to be considered smart.
pretty much everyone i come across always tells me the same thing.
sometimes it's nice when they do but i feel a bit down from it because i can never have an intelligent conversation with anyone, even when i tone it down a little.
i'm one of those people that finds solutions to problems very quickly and can pass exams without having to study for it.
seriously,i don't even study at all and i get the highest grade in class.
also it's a bad factor when it comes to socialising, since people tend to find you annoying when you're always there correcting them and picking fights with believing your opinion is the right one(which is always the case).
enough about that though,i honestly think we are all intelligent in our own ways,i mean take manga and anime for example...you have a lot of knowledge of it,then you are smart in that area,it's like that,it depends on what you take an interest in.
I am normal, not too smart not too dumb.but, when it come to hentai, porn and sex, I'm number 1 😛 (learn the sex from futari ecchi)

Smart.....what determines if you are smart or not? IQ? Academic grade? The way you handle people and situations? Your creativity? According to academic, I'm top 0.05% in my school. According to three IQ test, my IQ ranges from 120-140. I suck at how to handle situations. And my Creativity has not been fully tested. So I think it all balances out to be normal. It's very strange, but I thought Pre-Calc was harder than Calc.....

Well... I'm considered knowledgable... I used to be the smartest of my class but now... not so much. Anyway, here we have levels (3 actually) and I'm in the highest level (which consist of 15 % of the studying teenagers). So Nationaly I guess I would be considered smart but in my class alone I'm not very smart although I do know a lot of things. (Things you don't need for anything really..., but at least I know them 😛 )
Things like that a cow can sleep while standing but can only dream when he's lying. And that an octopus has 3 hearts. And a lobster only becomes red when boiled (before that he's blue). And the 'fact' that everyone thought the earth was flat is completely untrue. And that the youngest mother ever was 5 when she had her baby O.O (shocking)
I could do this all day XD I really like knowing things most people don't know and don't need to know 😛
p.s. in The National IQ I got 132 ^^

They say there's a correllation between people who are good at procrastination and intelligence.
The "smartest" thing I did back in HS was in my spring semester, senior year. I had roughly a 3.79 CGPA and was accepted to a good college. I said to myself: "The scholarships are in the bag, even if I fail all my classes I still graduate and my college would still probably accept me... let's see how much I can fuck up my grade but still graduate with honors." So I skipped classes to go watch movies, or hike, or read manga... whatever. And my cumulative GPA at the end of it all was a 3.533. I needed a 3.5 to graduate with honors. Smart or Dumb? You decide.
Also in terms of catching up with asians. I don't know about the rest of the asians out there but for me I kinda had to do the AP classes because of some pretty strict parenting skills... mostly involving a rolling pin on my ass.

I'm considered book-smart. I learn the stuff, get good grades, graduate with the title of 'Student of the Year' and then blissfully forget everything I've learned on the spot. Pretty average, then, I'd say 😉

wow, I found someone like myself. Someone that is into these freaky facts that no one cares about. Horses alway sleep standing up, unless it's sick or dying. They also don't stop immediately after running, they trot slowly. If they do stop immediately, they will have a heart attack. I use to think I was like, special. But when I go to college, everyone else is just as special, if not a bit more.
lol I guess we are a bit alike 😛
I knew the second one 😉 I have some horse 'freaks' in my class (they're not really freaks 😛 ) and I hear about these kinds of things often XD I'm the only person in my class that loves anime and manga and japns etc... I think everyone in my class is special though... I realised even though there are some things we learn and are rooted in our personality (per country) but there is no stereo-type EVER. it's really funny to see people putting labels on other people knowing you cannot possible put the same label on even more than one person 😛 (It was like a Eureka moment for me 😛 )
Did you know that a drawing was found from 1200 before pythagoras with a triangle proving they knew back then how to use and prove the pythagoras theory XD ??

Just as dumb as everyone...Not that someone needs to be smart to accomplish something great...Only wise people can do that. And I doubt someone is wise here...

Depends on what kind of "smart" you're measuring.
Going by school grades (HS & university), I'm pretty smart, but part of that was determination, and another part is that I'm a good test-taker. It may not be useful in the "real world", but being a good test-taker was sure helpful in school! (Almost backfired on me with the SATs, since my college based your first semester math course on your SAT score - at the time I took my SATs, my last HS math class was Algebra II nearly two years before, and yet according to my score, I "should" have enrolled in calculus...riiiiiight...fortunately they let me take Algebra & Trig instead.)
With money, practical stuff, common sense, I'm pretty smart. 😀 If there's a practical reason for learning or doing something, I will find a way to learn/do it~
Interpersonal stuff, esp. with strangers or large groups, I totally suck. 🤢 It's like my brain freezes or something, which makes job interviews torture.
