Dude, first off, please use proper grammar when speaking of the merits of advanced academics. I firmly disagree with your opinion, mainly because it is a superficial supposition. I know as many intelligent people outside the boundary of academia as those on the inside.

More of a potential for what? Do you not see the fallacy in your own remarks? Like I said it's totally superficial. Furthermore, many smart people are not considered smart by their peers because many people are uncomfortable and/or biased towards those of higher intelligence because when someone portrays themselves in that manner, they are often seen as pretentious and arrogant. Just like I seem now.

Look, there are plenty of dumb kids who are in the 'high classes'. It's just because they work their butt off, that they have good grades. >.< I mean, seriously, sometimes I wonder how they got there. o.O

Once again, quality work is something virtually anyone can do. Anyone can bullshit a halfway decent essay, or study enough to get 100 on a hard test. Nothing to do with intelligence, just work habits and effort.

Knowledge and intelligence aren't the same thing. Think about it a little more carefully, you don't become more intelligent, but you do become more knowledgeable. Knowledge is gained through education (self-taught or otherwise). If knowledge was what determined intelligence, most people in third world countries would be considered idiots by your standards simply because they haven't been educated, when in reality I'm certain there are plenty that are more intelligent than you and I, and pretty much anyone else on this forum.

@Pseudopadoz: Statistically, you may be correct that people in higher level classes have a higher level intelligence compared to others around them, but I haven't seen any solid statistical evidence pointing either way. Regardless of that, people who are better at school- taking tests, managing large workloads, etc- are certainly more likely to be the people in those classes, and those skills aren't necessarily marks of intelligence. They just show that you are capable at those certain tasks.

😃 Intelligence and being able to say the entire lesson by heart anytime are two completely different things.
..which is what most people don't get <<. I'm in a high class too but I can't say I'm surrounded by smart people. It's around 50-50.
I'm in the completely dumb area btw ^^;;, both academically (I'm way too lazy anyway) and in the rest I'm not too bright either, just average I guess. I just lack life experience, which is way more important than academical knowledge sometimes.
