Quote from Spanky151

Not really manga but I'm gonna have to offer up Tengen Toppa Gurren Laggan

Two points where it made me get emotional enough to tear up

When Kamina dies.

Nina fading away at the end after marrying Simon. And Simon being alone for the rest of his life.

So true. That anime was so upbeat so much of the time that those depressing emotional moments really strikes hard.

Some other ones
Rurouni Kenshin:

Kenshin's history with Tomoe. Also the scene after Kenshin's first battle with Enishi when we see Kaoru's body impaled by Enishi's sword and with a cross shaped wound on her cheek. You find out it's fake later, but at that moment it was truly heartbreaking.

Naruto:

Gaara's background with his father (the kazekage). And when Tsunade diagnosed Lee after his battle with Gaara, telling him that he either quits being a ninja or takes a highly risky operation.

Honey and Clover II (don't know if it occurs in the manga or not)

When Hagu gets into that accident and she loses her ability to use her arm, especially with her gift of art.

Renri no Eda was truly moving, from the point you find the tragic fate of the main characters.
PS: most people cried by the end of the story

I cried all throughout Saikano;_; And also at the end of Chrno Crusade, both the anime and the manga! And also numerous scenes during Please Save my Earth.

I cried a few times in Basara:

When Ageha screws the ugly guy in prison for the sake of Sarasa

And also when:

Sarasha and Shuri (the red king) meet each other on the battle grounds

the manga Tomoyo After - Dear Shining Memories just made me want to cry 😢

yes, i quite agree. it really is full of heartbreaking moments, especially during the last part of the series.

to those who love romance and drama, this is a must to read.

Suzuka
this manga has full of romance and drama.

yamato crying in his own room during the time that Yamato confess to Suzuka for the first time, only to be rejected.

when yamato and suzuka broke up, followed by the crying scenes in the airport

this part is a touching statement by suzuka

when suzuka finally told yamato that she can't leave without yamato during their wedding. the way suzuka deliver the statement makes want to have a lover who can tell you that likewise... awwwww

about Mahoraba:

when momono-san departed Narutakisou in order to be with her boyfriend.

ummm.i don't know if its just me but i really cried a lot while reading...

SKIP BEAT. 🤢

i'm really touched when Ren was thinking that he can't confessed his love.for the reason that he is afraid that Kyoko might totally be away from him.so he's just keeping his feelings for her.i know it's quite a scene that always happens.but with Ren it seems that it has deep meaning.i'm always thinking that Ren really is sacrificing a lot for a love that there's no assurance to be returned. :(

when Kyoko realized that she was like an empty shell.i'm like saying OUCH.she gave a lot of effort but in the end she just realized that she's just like an empty shell.what the?T_______T

when Kyoko told Ren's father her story. It was like so hard and to think that she is recalling the past that brought her so much sadness. :(

Midori no Hibi

it really is full of comedy, yet at the end there were many heartbreaking scenes

when Takako Ayase finally confess to Seiji Sawamura only to be declined by Seiji. the most heartbreaking in the scenes was when Ayase crying under a lightpost.

At least she doesn't find out she was passed up for Sawamura's right hand. That would've really made her depressed, I think.

What I can think of right now,

Berserk:

When Caska got raped in front of Guts, and he can actually do nothing, as he's grabbed by other monsters... finally, he had to cut off his own limb to get away from those monsters and reach her...

Ichigo 100%:

When Toujo meets Manaka during the entrance exams and pretty much part ways from that point (in terms of a romantic relationship). When Manaka thinks back at the time they spent together and how he realized that if either would have done something, they would have ended up together. And of course, as Toujo is leaving, Manaka says something along the lines of, "Turn around Toujo... No. Don't turn around. Don't turn around Toujo." And they are both crying as Toujo walks away. Made me depressed for a few days whenever I thought about it.

Saikano: No specific moment. Almost the entire manga was heartbreaking.

FMA:

Hughes death. I think I may have shed a tear in that one.

One Piece: Parting with the Going Merry.

Naruto: Gaara vs. Rock Lee fight. When Lee stood up even though he was unconscious and Gai was telling him that he was already a great ninja. That was a tearjerker.

Evangelion doujin: Re-Take:

When Asuka dies. Yes, Asuka, this the doujin not the canon.

In the epilogue book, Re-Take: After, when Asuka and Shinji are reunited after a few months. Call me a big softy, but I thought that was sweet.

Gunslinger Girl:

In the moments right before Angelica's death. When Angelica forgets that man she is talking to (forgot his name) is her fratello, and proceeds to tell him a story. But the story turns out to be the same story that he told her when they first met, even though throughout the manga, she continuously forgot everything, including the story that he first told her. I was like, "That's too cruel."
