Gay and bi guys are stereotypically more feminine, and therefore would like shoujo better than most others it seems.

Even so there are manly gay/bi guys..

Anyways I don't think it really matters, if you read shoujo/josei then cool. If you read shonen/seinen then cool also.
I'm a girl and I enjoy reading both.

That's what I meant.. So your sexual orientation really doesn't have anything to do with what kind of genre you read..

Don't think it matters, each person has his own taste in what they like to read 🙂

If you take a look at my lists, allot of it is shoujo

I read some shoujos, but i hate the ones that continuously make your eyes twitch from all the blurring or detailed effects into it. I like manga that doesn't strain my eyes 😀

I've read some of all four genres, and I'm a girl. And my (straight and manly) brother reads with me a lot, in all four genres. I have a much harder time getting him to read books I like than manga....maybe he just hasn't had enough time to develop a filter on manga? Or maybe he won't at all! 😁

yeah I definitely read shoujo more than anything else. I used to soak it up. I think that many shoujo are a bit more realistic. Plus I'm a sucker for a good romance. And, people that say that the romances in shoujo aren't realistic, don't happen to realize that we're the guys to make it happen. I've never used a line from a shoujo manga, but there some general principals that guys don't even think about. Reading shoujo is entertaining, educational, and often times leaves you with a warmer feeling than a shounen would. Although now-a-days I only peruse them on occasion, for me, shoujo is still the way to go.

I tend not to notice the genre a particular manga is from. The only real way I catagorize manga is by the broad categories of "Can read in public" and "Cannot read in public".

As much as I don't care if a manga series has breasts in it or not, I don't need to be confronted every 4 minutes about how the girl on the particular page I'm on is missing 9/10 of her shirt because she fell into a wheat thresher or whatever.
