Ohkay, I've just finished reading Mai-Chan no Nichijou.... I have to say, it is definitely by far the worst I've read... However to even my own surprise... I was not very disturbed by it... Maybe because I know it's not real and it's not happening in real life right in front of me.
but the one character that I think is the freakiest character I've read about is the chick in Mirai Nikki...

hmm.. i've tried to read some DJ which have been known to be quite explicit so i was kinda mentally prepared.. but what i was not prepared for was the fact that it is NOTHING but EXPLICIT show - and very exaggerated show that is... errr.. so after going like 3 pages into it, i've decided to drop it.. and tried to erase that horrible memory from my brain... 😔

That's still nothing like Love prism. I still feel my non-existent penis shivering in fear whenever I have nightmares related to that manga.
Elfen Lied-"scarring"? I read around 2 volumes and I'm perfectly fine. And I was 14 at the time. The horrendous artwork scared me more than the actual content.

Hmm. I dont' think I've been scarred for life by any manga in particular. I can think of a few that definately changed my mode of thinking.
Homunculous is one that really made me re-examine my assumptions of people and their actions. The art is quite disturbing and I had a few nightmares involving eating body fluids after that one, but it was still a great manga.
Shamo is another one that disturbs me. I hate the main character. I mean, really really hate and fear him. I keep hoping he'll change, but I think deep down I just want him to die horribly. The images are violent and gross, but for some reason, I want to read more. Maybe it's more from a psychiatrists point of view as to why. Why would he think like he does? How do you go from trying to get a fight with someone, to raping their girlfriend to egg them on? Intriguing.
So yeah. Those 2 are the only ones I've read that I guess you could maybe put into that category. ^_^

the cold rain of happiness. THE END.
THE sickest thing I read in my life.
Why did i read it?
BECAUSE SOMEONE MENTIONED IN THE SUMMARY
THAT IT WAS DISTURBING.
It's like, the reverse psychology thing, jeez~

Nope, never had a manga that scarred me for life...
I went through Gantz, Battle Royale, Berserk, Elfen Lied and other manga like that without blinking...I actually enjoyed the gore and cruelty of those mangas =].

I've stumbled across some melo-dramatic 'Soap-opera-ish' dramatic mangas which SRSLY pissed the hell out of me.. thus..scarring my life.. Forever.. literally
Can't Lose You <-- gawd...
Hot Blooded Woman <-- an EPIC Wth moment..
Desire Climax... oh god... stop the Prince crap..
Hot Gimmick <-- B*tch.
oh! and wait, there'sss MOAR!! ^________^///////
Akuma to Love Song <-- I f*cking hate bullies-themed mangas...
Life <-- I can't stand her air-headedness....
Hadashi de Bara wo Fume <-- Makes me pissed off everytime thinking about it
B-Men Kazoku <-- Can someone Plz IMPREGNATE her to end this 'stupidity'?
And some cliche stupid smutty mangas which are a Prelude to the Horror of reading the same...sammmee..stereotypical shoujo mangas everytyme I'm leeching off one-shots...
Works by Shinju Mayu.. and this one is the CREEPIEST of them all..Ai Ore!
That's basically my Manga Hate-list which totally screw half of MY 'manga life points'!!11

Reading smut manga at the tender age of 11...
I mean i was ok with some of them, but they always had the perfect-my only flaw-is-I-want-to-do-everyone-and think-I can-buy-you guys and the push-over-I-want-you-to-abuse-me-but-i-won't-admit-it girls T_T
For example.
I HATE DESIRE CLIMAX. It scarred me then, it disgusts me now...
Oh, I also hated peach girl and boys over flowers (?). Again it was just the plots kinda twisted my view on things...I became SO much more cynical as a result of these mangas. (i never even finshed the first 5 pages)
And most doujins kinda creeped me out, but I finally got used to them ;.; (long process!) 😐

Zomg!! I hate Desire Climax too! Infact, it's one of my TOP 5 manga Hate-list!!
I mean, srsly...the girl is so dumb..indecisive and literally submit herself to a bishie. She's an embarrassment to the female race.. Lol.
The plot is overly dramatic...Actually, Desire climax is the main reason why I registered into this forum!! I felt so pissed off looking at the high ratings of that manga, so I couldn't BARE to let that manga to get higher ratings cuz it's so Damn Sickening!

I was reading a chapter of something and somehow three graphic pages from a yaoi manga slipped in. I wasn't one of those people who didn't know what yaoi was, but avoided it because I knew I'd find it disturbing. Anyway, one minute, I'm reading a cute and fluffy shoujo romance. The chapter ends and a new thing comes up. Sidestory. Cute, fluffy shoujo. I assumed the smaller figure was a cross-dressing girl and that would be part of the story. Until it becomes obvious that its a guy doing another guy. The way it suddenly poped up unexpetedly probably added a little power to the shock...but even without that, I probably would have been scarred anyway.

Three words. Yaoi, Yuri and Hentai. Sorry to fans but some of that stuff has scarred me more than any amount of gore, horror or psycological trauma ever could.
The pen is mightier than the sword...and considerably easier to write with.
