There have been many cases where someone gets attacked and people let it happen then later everyone wonders why no one did anything.

I would call the police. Even if they don't catch the attackers they can still help the person if they make it out alive.

Well that's why the police constantly reminds you that it's OK to call them more than once about a situation. They encourage it even. Going back to the original question though, I would call the police. Though I would like to think that I would save the person no matter who she was, fighting off a whole group of thugs is for the capable, martial arts experts, and/or people with a gun. I'm not really any of those kinds so I would just be adding more victims to the problem.

there is no BUTS here. nothing can justifies ignoring such a thing. if you see some one is getting attacked, you have to help her/him by using the best ways you can find at the moment.

now I read this, I remember that it happened for me once. some thief attacked our neighbor's little girl while she was sleeping in her room and I heard her screaming through my half closed window. I was so shocked that it took me a minute to get what was really going on. i shouted as loud as I could and threw my book at her window. I know it was kind of silly act but I was hoping maybe I could distract him from attacking her while my mom was calling the police. :-s

You both are right, I am quite a nosy person and my friends often ask me why saying that I should "leave it for the next guy"... but what if the next guy also thinks the same? And so on... Instead I think "if not me then who?", by thinking that at least one person will care and if the next guy thinks the same then things are going quite good 😛

I think it deffinetely would make a difference, if not by the fact that guys would help second intentions whille helping the girl then by the collective thinking of women can't deffend themselves or their on

I'd scream and shout, and call the police. If there was some big burly guy nearby, I'd bother him into saving her. If it was just me, I'd probably run at them all crazy and small munchkin like. But I'd probably get my ass whooped so I'd make sure that would be that last choice. But under no circumstances would I just walk away or something.
