I don't see why it necessarily has to be a woman, it could happen to a guy too, no? So, it'd be better to phrase it as 'if you see a person getting beaten up...'
I wonder if that would make a difference. Gender. 🤣
It would definitely make a difference for me. Objectively, it probably shouldn't but that's just the way I've been raised up. When I see a woman in need, I just feel really really awkward if I don't do something. It's not that I think that women are weaker or anything.
As for the actual question, it seems like most of the people here would at least call the cops, which I think is a very good thing. Cynic that I am though, I wonder if this many people really would. There have been tons of experiments where people would do fake crimes in broad daylight ranging from robbing a store in a crowded street to a man verbally abusing and making threatening gestures to his "wife" in the middle of a park, while people walked by pretending like they didn't see anything.
well if it was a guy, i'd first need to understand if hes been rightfully mistreated (tons of reasons for being mistreated by some thugs imho). For the "wife mistreated in public", i'd prolly walk by if it didnt include actual beating: hey, YOU married him, you can easily walk/escape to the nearer safe place/cop. Some time ago i saw a young man and young woman (age mm 2x years) "heavily" discussing, him being very rough with her who was on the verge of tears. As i walked by the two i purpousedly met her eyes and waited a bit (distance 2meters) making her understand i was waiting so she could ask me for help if she needed: she didnt, i continued on my route.

I need a die with 2 sides.
That's known as a "coin".
Oh, thanks. Too much D&D.
