Quote from hiyoko_sachi
Goong and then it paved the way to my manga addiction. 😀 But then I got tired of Goong when it became too political. and dragged on
What da ya know? Same first shoujo. I started manga with a bunch of shoujo manhwas ever since I was a little kid. And for manga in Korea, Goong was legendary among the shoujo category.

Hana Yori Dango
If it wasn't for the fruity cover of volume 4 of HYD, I wouldn't be such a manga lover as I am now.

I think I read Marmalade Boy first. Then, I think I read Card Captor Sakura, which I think is a very cute story (but I like xxxHolic much more). Haha, now that I think about it, Marmalade Boy made me cry a lot since I was much younger back then and all of the drama in that series. 😛

Worst first I've done in anything ever.

My first was Ouran Koukou Host Club
and still reading it 😐
But I bought it from an online website that sold manga and later started reading scans online at websites like onemanga.

From recollection, my first shoujo as well as my very first manga was Desire Climax. Talk about a bad way to start off manga 🤣
I enjoyed it at first, until the plot regressed to sexual assault and near-rape. For a while afterwards, I thought the majority of shoujo included non-consensual sex - this wasn't helped by my reading similar stuff by Shinjo Mayu - so I shied away from shoujo until I read stuff like Lovesick and Fruits Basket 😃 , which restored my faith in the genre!

Oh lordy... gotta go all the way to the back of my memory banks here... I'm almost 100% sure my first was Ouran Koukou Host Club. Kind of ironic how I'm still keeping up with the series and they STILL haven't really gotten to the romantic climax... sigh Suspense is a marketing ploy, but I have to admit that I am guilty for falling for their schemes... Those damn cliff-hangers get me every time... 😐

...With this alone, I have gone too far. 😐

Wow. I have no idea what my first shoujo manga was. 😲 I know my first manga ever was Ranma 1/2 but that's shounen; I really have no idea what shoujo I read first. 😔 Something easily available ~6 years ago, but other than that...

I actually started manga with Shounen but my first Shoujo would be, take a guess, Vampire Knight. Surprise, surprise.
