i have no problems with the people themselves, but they things they do, and the gov, is why i don't particularly like china.
But all countries have their own problems, so its not like they are the worst off.
That being said, that shit makes me sick to my stomach.
i can take humans getting skinned and beaten and murdered without batting an eye, but when it happens to animals....idk.....it just seems to bad.

Nothing can be done.
unless your going to go and slaughter all of the people that do that.
and all the other stupid people trying to make a living for themselves and their family.

There are ways to make a living without killing and torturing everything around you.
Life is tough......but it's tougher if you're stupid.

Thats very true, but at the same time, there is a demand for fur and such(which i don't really understand, i think it looks horrid, on humans) so its just people supplying the demand.
While i don't support it in the least, and belive the same should be done to the people that do that to animals, i understand why its done.
anyways, this is a very sensitive topic, i can see fighting in the future, and then getting locked.

If you can foresee fighting, try not to fight - or at least try not to take part in it if someone else causes a fight.
Same for Fur trading. Even if there is a demand for fur trading, the animals don't need to be skinned alive. They don't need to be beaten against the ground. They don't need to be kept in small cages and starved for food and water.
I think that this topic may have been created with the intent of educating our fellow MU members and posing the question of what we can do to stop or appease this violent trade.
Saying nothing can be done is counter-productive to the topic at hand. There are things that can be done. Difficult things, easy things, somewhat selfless things can be done.
Let's all agree that something can be done, and then discuss some solutions and share perspectives - rather than dismiss the issue as too difficult or too controversial.

Your very right, and you have a good point.
if we all worked together, then something could be done, but i honestly don't foresee that happening, as alot of humans only do stuff like that when it suits them.
i, myself, would be quite willing to help anyone, if they have any idea's as what to do, since its a problem that needs to be stopped.
People do need to be aware of this, of what the animals go through, and the profit people make off of doing those horrible things to animals.
Thats why i decided not to become a vet, despite my love for animals, i wouldn't be able to take seeing bad things happen to animals.
also, i have reply'd enough to this topic so far, so imma just let this topic go for a bit.

Their zoos are also horrible, there's just no excuse for this sort of behavior.

what kinda F'd up resolution is that? torture or not they're gonna end up dead anyways wether it be on the farm or in nature(in this case for some reason its not cruel or unusual its just naturual right?). if there is an extreme overpopulation of a certain species it F's up the whole ecosystem(desertification is one of the biggest concerns in the world and especially so in china). now they farming these animals, so essentially keeping them in balance. Greed still moves the world and China is gonna be the biggest economic power in years to come. they want to be a first world country.
ppl can complain all they want but not enough ppl gonna give a damn enough in order to fight this. cuz essentially to fight one animal abuse is setting a precedece to fighting every animal abuse dat comes along dats how history usually works, now what about poaching in africa? bullfights in spain? selling human slaves in open waters? animal fights in 1st world countries and warring ones? stopping one but not all is hypocrociy.
in the end when its all said and done, in a country where humans and nukes are their biggest assets, and look at how they treat their own people(i no its getting better as time passes but its still meh...), u cant expect them to start treating FOOD with respect. now think of if we stopped wasting so much money trying to stoop nature, we literally spend hundreds of millions of dollars trying to save a whale stuck on a beach or a naturally occuring forest fire. Poverty is still the biggest issue and should be our biggest fears. we are rich many are poor, they can easily take it from us with sheer number and force.

Didn't read the article, and really don't care. I have no problem with people wearing/making animal skin products.

Just a quick reply for now:
I like meat, and I have no issues with fur in and of itself. I do oppose cruelty, however, I believe that realistically there are priorities. (For the record, I disapprove of many things that go on in China as well as many other countries.) I will not blame a starving farmer for not slaughtering his meat animals in the most painless way possible when he can't afford the machinery because he bought clothing for his kids instead.
I would like to point out that even in the US, in order to make pork edible, a certain amount of cruelty is required to allow the blood to escape. I eat minimal pork because I don't like the taste, and the fact that a pig's heart will keep a human alive for more than a month when properly transplanted freaks me out.
So before people start screaming that all death is cruelty, read the more detailed discussions in this thread. And if you want to do something about real cruelty, there are programs all over the world (try the ASPCA in the US, since I don't like PETA).

@dacbiet while I agree with some of your points I will say that in this case they could have at least killed the animals before they skinned them. I'm not really opposed to the fur trade, but its not like it would take much to kill the animals outright. That being said, the article linked here from PETA has a very high chance to be almost complete BS (either isolated incident, or the "undercover" people working in these fur farms took actions behind the scene to create such cruel conditions for the animals in order to get more of a reaction from the public), so take what is said in this article with a grain of salt.
Note: Although I'm largely unfamiliar with PETA's standing and previous actions, I'm fully aware of the types of actions certain other activist groups cough Greenpeace cough have taken in the past. PETA may be a fine organization (in which case I'm terribly sorry for comparing it to Greenpeace), I just dont know (and finding unbiased information on an international activist group is a real ****)
Note2: If you are a member of Greenpeace, you are either ignorant of your own groups actions or an idiot, congratulations.
