Ah, I'm a girl and I think people thinking they're special for playing video games are over-rated. There no big deal with it really, there's thousands of girls I see on the internet ranting about how girls are allowed to play games.
It really annoys me.

I was in a Clan for Gears of War 2. I'm the only that lived in the West Coast(Cali) and they all lived in the East Coast of the states. So i get on about 4 hrs after they do on Xbox Live. And I heard they got whooped on by a girl. I was the second best player in the clan, but was also the best team player in the squad. After hearing this I was like, I'm out.

Nothing against them but my sister was a beast in Halo 1 when we would have LAN parties. So yeah, they're out there, but there just hard to come by.

I'm a girl and I love video games. I'm not the best video gamer since I don't spend days playing my 360 but I'm pretty average and sometimes above average. I did own some guys on Mario Karts Wii and Brawls. I suck at Halo period. I hate that game and most people just ram into me before I can even use my gun. sighs

I wish I had more time to play video games and improve my skills. 🙂 I should start dusting my Wii and 360 soon. 😎

But I do prefer RPGs. I have no idea why I love them. And no, I do not pick the healer. I pick the hottest male character and kick some butt xD I am an indecent player sometimes...

Ive beaten a bunch of upperclassmen at naruto shippuuden with Sasori and Haku! And Im a GIRL!!! I luv mmorpgs, rpgs, fighting games, racing, and warfare! especially intergalactic warfare! and NO i dont play the healer! in fact, i hate healers! it takes forever to lvl up because u need some1 to team up with or else u will die! i prefer an archer, warrior, or at best, an assassin! (my fave class!)

Most of my guy friends play as girls in mmorpgs, so I am usually skeptical of female characters being actually played by actual girls, especially since one of the few female gamers that I do know play as a guy. I generally play as a guy if i had a choice though, but I will play as a girl if it gives me an upper hand (like not getting nut shotted or having a smaller sprite).

I'd like to think that this whole issue is starting to go out the window because there are more and more female gamers now. So no, I don't think it matters that much these days.

But I do remember back when I was in college (that's right, I'm an old lady), I used to catch a lot of flak because I'd enter video game tournaments they held in the dorms. I went away with my share of prizes (or bragging rights) and people used to wonder how they'd get their butts kicked by a girl. Oh well.

I still play video games to this day. First (and third)-person shooters, action/adventure, rpg, strategy, you name it. Except sports. I'm not that big a fan of sports games (well, that probably just gave away that I'm a female gamer), even though I'd take people out in those tournaments a long, long time ago.

I don't do online stuff, though. For some reason that's still an iffy topic for me.

Mind eraser, no chaser

I love them. Enough that there were times I missed school staying up playing some Rpg. I dont think girls playing games is a big deal really. I know alot of girls who play games. They just dont make a big deal about it or talk about it. My sister likes those Harvest moon games and steambot chronicles. Those sim-ish type games.

My favorite types are Jrpgs, Dating simish rpgs (like Growlanser or Ar Tonelico), Action/Adventure/Puzzle (Zelda, Ico, Shadow of the Colossus), Strategy Rpgs like Disgaea or that new game on the DS Shin megami tensei: Devil Survivor, fighting games like Guilty Gears or Blazblue. I love survival horror games like Fatal Frame as well. My top favorite series are Tales of, Final Fantasy, SMT, almost any Nippon ichi game, almost any Gust game.

I dont really play online games much though. Online fighting games? Yeah. Just got into it though.

I'm a lady who spends far too much time playing video games.

I like RPGs best, but FPS games are fun too. Lately I've been into Wii fitness stuff (but it isn't very gamer-ish, just addicting). And guitar hero too. My button mashing skills are going to drop if this continues...
The only things I don't play are online mulitplayers. For whatever reasons they don't appeal to me.

And, more stereotypically for a girl, I enjoy endless hours of simming.

when i play my character is often a guy so no one knows that im a girl so i dont get hit on or people stereotyping on me...i mean i can play hard!!! woohoo!!! goes and plays >:-( that made me angry!!

Male gamers are a dime a dozen whereas female gamers are to, the catch is most do not blurt out loud they are female for fear of explicit flirts. A lot of them actually do the same thing male gamers do in the MMO world, play as the opposite gender with their characters. I read a survey a while back that portrayed there's even more female gamers than male.
