not that rare. i probely spend about 11 hours a week playing. i am very competitive so i always stick at a game.

I've only met two girl gamers, one was a WoW-addict and the other is in jail for distribution of powder. everybody's making some rele valid points, definitly in that "few and far inbetween" category.

I'm a girl and I play plenty of video games >_> I love MMORPGs the best. Games like Oblivion are really good too. Actually I was recently pumped for the release of Fable II...Sadly the 360 got taken to college ; Guess not.

Speed? can run fast, but only for a few seconds before almost fainting for lack of oxygen, oh you mean gaming? yeah my fingers and my reactions are pretty fast, I am not a god, but if we talk about practice I got LOTS are you jealous that I used to spend +10 hours a day gaming? "and I mean on School time, on vacations I used to pull more" GOD knows I don't, and dropping gaming was the best I did in my life.

Now I can play with you any game made prior to 2002 and probably kick your ass (talking about UT, Halo CE, KoF 98, and others that I really don't want to mention) and the new ones suck most of the time, so I am not missing anything.

But thought luck I don't play video games anymore, a match of GG and SC here and there and maybe Gears of War or Halo, but Brawl? only without Items

I only use about half the items in Smash Brothers and I'm decent at Halo. I've never played the game, but I've played in matches against a few relatives.

I don't think anyone that uses Items in SB Brawl is being cheap, is like saying that Mario Kart is inferior to Forza Motorsports, NFS or GT... Brawl has items and you should use them, however, never claim to be better than someone else because you got lucky and managed to get the pokeball first >_>

Yep

To keep it simple, I played anything popular made between 1985-2002, anything but sport games, or better say Football games (even thought I didn't like them, I played BasketBall/Baseball/Soccer games sometimes, but only because my friends liked them) >_>

You see a lot and I mean A LOT of my friends had their own consoles "nintendos, Super Nintendos, Segas, PSone, N64, DreamCast, PS2, Xbox, Gameboys and you know >_>" some even had more than one of the above list, and anytime we got tired of the games we had we just traded

Those where the days, now we are too busy with University and work, we still get together a little bit and play a match of Gears Of War, Halo, Guilty Gear and so on, but is not even CLOSE to what we used to have

and yeah I am talking about a whole neighbor of kids (don't remember the exact numbers, but with Cousins and Brothers we sure as hell where more than 50)

and Girls loved to play MARIO (World/Kart), that is a fact >_>

I have a 64, Gamecube, Xbox, PS2, and DS. I'm pretty confident with myself on Mariokart 64 and Doubledash, I don't have a lot of games, so I spend a lot of time on those I do have, so I think I'm pretty good. My grandparents used to play with me, but now it's mostly just my brother and a few cousins at times.

The life of an Adult Gamer is harsh at best, your friends don't play with you or don't play as much as you, sooner or later you drop gaming altogether (or play a lot less) or face a life of loneliness and "online morpg friends", and thanks god I didn't fall that deep.

PS: To guys games are like drugs!!! is hard to suddenly drop the Paddle/Joystick and start to live.

That is so true. It is an eventuality for most people that as soon as you leave school and are on your own, you have have less time for games until they are just another phase in your life that resurfaces from time to time.

In regards to female gamers, I am one of those people that don't care about gender in gaming or which gender you decide to play. As long as you play (preferably well and/or not being idiot) thats all that matters. I believe that female gamers can play just as well or better then males. In fact when I do game, which now-a-days is less and less, I like grouping w/ females since they tend help group coheasion more (this is just from personal experience).

I think the stereotype that females are bad at gaming stems from that fact that gaming was more male dominated in the past, so when females started playing more males tended to group females in the same category as noobs. This does not mean there are not just some really awful female gamers, but overall there are probably even more awful male players since gaming is still quite male dominate. Also the distinction needs to be made that some of crappy female characters are played by males, which doesn't help the stereotype.
