I've only known one female who plays videogames --- a family friend's daughter(?).

 Appearently our fathers were close childhood friends maintaining that friendship when they immigrated to my country (not sure if they came at the same time... I think they did). I've been told that we used to play when we were toddlers/infants (she's older than me by 1.5 years) but I don't remember her at all (she doesn't remember me either) --- We don't keep in touch. She lives in another city in a different province and I only hung out with her for a day.

 There is a point to the last paragraph. I'm not socially inept and have almost as many female friends as male friends (ratio of ~ 3:4), and none of them play videogames. The person described in the previous paragraph played RPGs for example the Final Fantasy series (X-2 at the time   😲  --- we talked about how terrible it was) and played alot of Dance Dance Revolution.

 Wait... thinking back in hindsight, I know 2 other female 'gamers,' they both play rhythm games, more precisely Guitar Hero/Rock Band, and DDR... I'd almost forgotten that rhythm games were also video games. I've heard about more females playing these types of games but either I had not known them personally or the subject never came up in conversation.  😕

I think that there is a lower number in girl gamers then guy gamers. Mainly because of the last generation has that boy stuff girl stuff mentality and impose it on children. Not all, but some.

i voted for im a girk and experienced stereotypical response when playing 🙄

The reason girls aren't as good as guys is due to the fact that girls usually aren't willing to put in the amount of time into videogames as guys do.

Some guys sit there for 2+ hours a day playing video games, thus men are alot more experienced in the games. As such, the learning curve for most girls is lot larger, for they are really starting from the bottom.

Now girls that are actually hardcore gamers are just as good as any guy. It's just that these girls are few and far between.

What Calliber said is pretty right. TBH, I've never seen a female play a game, ever. I know some in my school play Kingdom Hearts, but that's to be expected from Yaoi-fanatics...
Come think of it, I've never met a girl gamer online either...
