Koukou Debut is so far my favorite "refreshing" shoujo manga. The plot lines don't seem so original on the surface, but the protagonist is very a-typical. She's straight forward, forgiving, and doesn't jump to conclusions. Typical shoujo heroine trials have no effect on her.

'Course, I haven't read past the first volume, but I love what I've read.

Lovely Complex seems to be something that may interest you. Tall girl and a short guy who don't like each other at first glance. What 😕 Unheard of, right =) Hilarity ensured.

You could try to famous Ouran High School Host Club.
Cat Street and Boys Over Flowers are two mangas that I recommend to any shoujo lover.
