My very first Shounen was Dragonball.
I was a kid and never learned that it was called 'anime' until a number of years later 🤣

First shounen manga...I think it might have been Naruto. Although by that point I'd watched quite a few anime based off shounen manga, like Dragonball/Z, Rurouni Kenshin and Yu Yu Hakusho.
First shounen anime I ever saw was Dragonball.

First Shounen? Not any of those famous ones. I discovered manga through some online comics website... (Cybermanga.com) and from there, I learnt there were other types of comics besides American, European and Chinese comics. That was in the mid-90s when I was very big into discovering the world of online comics as a medium.
Around that time, of course, I also "rediscovered" anime through "Cowboy Bebop". Before that, I think I watched anime dubbed in Chinese as a kid in the 80s(can't recall the name).
Then I forgot about manga for years and then rediscovered Japanese shounen comics through Naruto and so on. 🙂

Quote from milque
But my first proper shounen is Tetsuwan Atom.
That was my first shounen anime. My first shounen manga was probably something like City Hunter or Ranma 1/2. Don't really remember now.

Well, my first anime was definitely before I started school. I think around 3. I'm pretty sure it was Akira (might be seinen, though) when it came on late at night once. I was watching with my brothers, they loved it, but I couldn't understand it at all.
Lupin III:Castle of Cagliostero(?) came on around that time too. I understood that and enjoyed it a great deal.
I'm pretty sure Sailor Moon came on TV around then, but that's not shounen, is it?
I have clearer memories of Pokemon around preschool-kindergarten years followed by DBZ, though. We actively downloaded DBZ (e.g the movie about goku's father and non-dubbed episodes) and finally realised that the ones we were watching were censored.
My first manga...My brothers would borrow Chinmi from the library when I was in kindergarten (5 years old), but I wasn't interested. At about 8 my brother showed me scanlations of naruto, followed by One Piece and Bleach.

Ranma 1/2 was my very first manga ever, too. I think it was one of the few series my library actually had, along with Ah! My Goddess and Inuyasha. I was a pretty timid kid though, so I wasn't too fond of Inuyasha cause it scared me. LOL
I loved Ranma though. I still haven't read all of the volumes.. I should really get started on that. Haha.
Well...I actually accidentally read my first shounen without actually understanding the label 'shounen' on mangafox. Later I learnt what it mean... 😀 It was Onidere and I've dropped it because I lost interest.

My first was Pokemon: The Electric Tale of Pikachu. It was also my first manga, but I didn't know this since it was in comic format. The first I read knowingly as a manga was Yu-gi-oh, my second manga.

DESU NOTO.
Was a good start, excellent artwork. Like the regular manga novice I was so engaged I read through it in no time.

Played the trading card game and watched the anime, so it was the only thing I knew about.
