He developed the mangekyou sharingan by himself and he even has a nickname.
Plus, the way he carries himself most of the time - aloof and carefree, yet always alert as well.
Just seems that there are characters in Naruto more epic than Kakashi.
Glados is a bitch. She made me kill the companion cube, the only friend I'll ever have. 😢

All options from the poll isn't epic alone. You have to combine 2 or 3. All of 'em would be overkill imo. But I'll chose symbolism. 'Cause thats the impact in the end anyways.

There are too many characters to make 1 stand out as utterly epic. Madara seems pretty epic though. Minato hasn't had enough screentime to be considered epic. Naruto has potential to be epic though. As for now he is still a somewhat anti-hero. And that is what he was supposed to be...
😀 😎

Maybe there are. But I'm a Kakashi fangirl, and he was the first epic character that caught my attention in the series.

Kakashi is epic in his own way. 😃

Ok, I just finished reading Berserk and Gantz (or at least I caught up)
Gattsu is such a beast. I love stories about a human that can fight against his destiny, (and do a damn good job).
Griffith is an evil evil man to twist human dreams like that. lol Gotta respect him though.
I wouldn't label anyone in Gantz epic, except maybe Katou (He has potential to do something... epic) and Izumi
O and Kenshin and Vash are definitly Epic. They are my definition of an epic character.

ep-ic [ep-ik]
-adjective
- noting or pertaining to a long poetic composition, usually centered upon a hero, in which a series of great achievements or events is narrated in elevated style: Homer's Iliad is an epic poem.
- resembling or suggesting such poetry: an epic novel on the founding of the country.
- heroic; majestic; impressively great: the epic events of the war.
- of unusually great size or extent: a crime wave of epic proportions.
-noun - an epic poem.
- epic poetry.
- any composition resembling an epic.
- something worthy to form the subject of an epic: The defense of the Alamo is an American epic.
- (initial capital letter) Also called Old Ionic. the Greek dialect represented in the Iliad and the Odyssey, apparently Aeolic modified by Ionic.
[Origin: 1580–90; < L epicus < Gk epikós.]
So, basically to be an epic character (epic being used as an adjective) the only way this would account in manga/anime would go by definition #3. From what I understand (as I have only seen trigun anime, not bothered to read it) Vash isn't epic even if he did blow a hole in the moon.
However, Gatts CONSTANTLY going against his 'fate', being larger than life, taking on near impossible odds and tasks, and still coming out alive fits that.
Basically, IMHO, an epic character has to be one that goes against overwhelming odds and succeeds, not just once or twice, but constantly. 'Larger than life' just doesn't cut it, it's not large enough to be 'epic'.
