Hello all,
I am not a stranger to reading manga, but I stopped reading just about in the middle of 2016. Any recommendations that I missed out on that are popular? Or series that have been starting to get scanned and translated since 2016 works too.
I am not too picky about series, but I have two criteria
-
No harems. I've read a lot of series, but harems usually irk me
-
Translated chapters at least up to chapter 40 or so, unless it is a short series

My personal recommendation based on manga list in the link provided by oneeyed:
-Sabishisugite Lesbian Fuzoku Ni Ikimashita Report
Short yet amazing slice of life dealing with mental illness. You can read this even if you're not into yuri.
-Tondemo Skill de Isekai Hourou Meshi
I won't stop recommending it to people ^^; Simple, funny, makes you hungry~
-Gokushufudou: The Way of the House Husband
Ex-yakuza turns into a stay-at-home husband. Hilariousness ensued. Good rating and reviews.
-Mieruko-chan
Short horror stories in a cute (?) and funny way.
I'm sorry almost all of them are not translated up to 40 chapters, but I do recommend those.
New titles that currently popular:
-Yakusoku no Neverland
-Goblin Slayer
-Kimetsu no Yaiba
-various isekai manga
Still popular:
Shingeki no Kyojin, Nanatsu no Taizai, My Hero Academia, One Punch-Man
New information:
-CCS has a new sequel: Cardcaptor Sakura - Clear Card Arc
-New manga by Naruto's author: Samurai 8: Hachimaruden
-Peak era of isekai manga..?
Kumo Desu ga, Nani ka?, Kenja no Mago, Tensei Shitara Slime Datta Ken, Tate no Yuusha no Nariagari, etc. You can search "isekai" and there will be many title starts with "Isekai".
-Same thing also happened to fantasy game + real world / SAO-like theme.
Solo Leveling, The Gamer, Hardcore Leveling Warrior,
-Webtoon gets better and better. Especially Korean webtoon.
-Manhua and Chinese novel also gets more recognition, thanks to The Grandmaster of Demonic Cultivation, yaoi manhua, and martial arts manhua.
-Not manga related but one of the classic manga Fruit Basket got anime remake after 18 years.
Hope it helps, sorry if it's too long.
