I used to read and write them, but don't really do it anymore. I never found them to be as good as the real story that the author did. And there were so many that the characters were misrepresented and details inaccurate that it annoyed me.

I read lots and write a few (although I haven't written for awhile now). My best friend and I read and we'll email each other "Hey, read this". So I've definately read a lot. Some are really bad, but there are a lot out there that are really good.
I read mostly stuff from Naruto. Mostly SasuNaru or SasuSaku!! Yayness! ^^

on Fanfiction.net, I'm Fangrl0606. Please read my stories. They may not be the best, but comments make me feel happy!!

This is a bit random, but is there anyone else out there who likes reading HP fanfics that have no pairings and basically just torture Harry? << >>;;; 'Cos I've gotten this weird obsession with reading 'em, and they're rather hard to find. They're mostly the ones where the Dursleys physically abused Harry (well, to a larger degree than the series described) and he ended up completely different and whatnot. twiddles thumbs, desperately hoping that she isn't alone ._.;;

Oh, and I'm attempting to write an FMA fanfic describing Al's obsession with putting cats in his armor, and I keep running into roadblocks... So I was hoping an FMA fan might be able to clear up a question or two for me. (Like whether Al sleeps or anything and how the Rockbells found Ed and Al- Did Al carry Ed to their house or did they find 'em themselves?) Thanks to anyone who can~

And to any SasuNaru/NaruSasu fans: If you want to know any good fanfiction authors or stories, you can ask me for them via PM. I have about three-hundred fifty fanfictions on my alert list on ffnet, so I might be able to list a few of the ones that I particularly enjoyed. (My account is www.fanfiction.net/~obscureomen, if you want to just look at my favourites list or something.)

i tend to read fanfiction about manga/anime that has an open-ending, and when i crave for more of the story (blood +)

I read fanfiction when I'm not satisfied with the conclusion or there's a major cliff hanger in the ending of the anime/manga.
Since Gakuen Alice is a major cliff hanger, I wanted to satisfy the fangirl in me by reading some romantic NatsumeXMikan fanfiction and so far, it's been great.

Maybe later, I'll look for La Corda d'Oro fanfictions... just until the rumored ova or sequel appears. =3

I read a few when I'm really into the manga, which doesn't happen often. Sometimes I do it, like asessilly, if I'm not satisfied with the ending, but fanfiction never appealed to me because it's not "the real thing," or whatever, and most are badly written and I feel like I'm wasting my time reading some. Doujinshi are the same as well, although some short gags or parodies are funny. So I read them occasionally, but not often..

Hello. My name is Ladycrystalite and I read and write fanfiction.

My geeky fanfiction habit began to form many years ago after reading a story called "Cinderelena" by an author named Rennuian and after a short few months of reading close to non-stop, I fell off the fanfiction wagon and didn't rejoin it fully until I discovered Gundam Wing Addiction and have since been stuck in the world of AU, OOC, bad spelling and cliche plot lines ever since.

Fortunately, I know when to say, "This is crap and I refuse to read another word," before moving on.

My favorite fandoms seem to be Gundam Wing, Harry Potter (only for the anime x-overs) and Fullmetal Alchemist and my fanfiction.net id is Rally Collins if you'd like to check out my favorite stories.

Yes, I used to read them when I didn't have regular access to the Internet, but then kinda fizzeled out when I did, But since my hard drive crashed I'm running off an Ubunto disk(Linux) I can't read manga since I have nowhere to save it too, soo I might start reading them again. The worst part about Fanfiction is coming across a really good one, and it being incomplete.

The first one I read was a Ranma 1/2 one called "The Shikima Interface." Really good, filled with lemon, and (the worst part) uncompleted. :'(
I have read quite a few really good FF, most of them Ranma one's, my fav. FF author is Jim Robert Bader, he wrote 2 really long Ranma/Nabiki fanfics, one was 11MB and the other was around 6-7MB, because of him I now prefer fanfiction to the actual manga series. My other favorite fandoms are Love Hina, Bleach, and Naruto. My fav. Bleach one was an AU where instead of rukia being a shinigami she was a vampire, and Ichigo was a Hunter. My fav. Naruto one was a Naruto/Hinata one called Shadow leaf dance(lemon).

I've been reading fanfics for years, I think since 1998. Some of the first fanfics I read/wrote were for Pokemon. I was even on the Fanfiction.net mailing list back in the day. I had an account since : 1998 - 1999, id: 4086, aka "Undine".

I've watched over the times how fanfiction has changed. There is much less MST-ing and Mary Sues / Gary Stus than back in the day. Also, fanfiction.net banned many forms of fanfics, including lemons, chat-style stories, actor/actress/celebrity fics, and songfics.

I'll add more info next time I can...
