(weird combo I know but it was excellent).

Weird combo? It was one of the more popular pairings in the FF VII fandom. 😛

But there are some weird ones, like Loz & Tifa. 🤣 They only met once, don't make a whole fanfic out of it. 😛

It was popular? 0_o..(I thought it was even more obscure than stuff like CidxAeris) Reno and Yuffie didn't really met properly either if I remember correctly and Loz and Tifa had a really romantic fight so I guess that counts 🙂 .
Speaking of which, fanfics are best at making up the weirdest couples EVER. 🙂 .

I prefer to stick to the intended story, so no.

Don't get me wrong, if you like a certain non-canon pairing--which I myself and guilty of--then more power to you. I just don't think that reading fanfics are worth it since sooner or later, couples are going to established in the story, and there's no way you can really fight the author's decision, in which case I learn to accept it.

This is just in my opinion, though..

I most certainly read fanfiction, though I do more writing than reading.

I tend to avoid any series that is not yet finished, and I'm drawn towards storylines that are finished yet have several unresolved plotlines. Ranma 1/2 ended with the announcement of Ranma and Akane's engagement going into 'overtime' yet we don't get to see any of it. Cardcaptor Sakura may have Sakura fully coming into her inheritence from Clow, but the relationships the children have are not complete and are riddled with landminds. And so on...

My one exception in writing is Naruto as the story I'm writing is a fully divergence from the original storyline, so any new twist in the main story has minimal impact on my series. I still don't read Naruto fanfiction.

I can certainly understand people being turned away from fanfiction if their first test into it was reading a random fanfict and finding something that bares no resemblence to the original series and/or is so full of horrible spelling and grammar that it's barely readable. Not all fanfiction is like that, too many of them are, but certainly not all of them. As many manga writers made their start with fan works in Japan, there are some writers who use fan fiction to improve their talent before becoming professional writers.

I was reading Bleedman's fanfiction for The Grim adventures of Billy and Mandy until he stopped Cold Turkey. It looks like he just recently picked it up

Soompi forums has some good fanfics.. but they're based mostly on Korean celebrities~

I love Suicide Note. o: <33 It's a very interesting/funny/awesome fanfic. xDD There's even a fanmade trailer and mini-movie based on it.. it's on Youtube if anyone wants to check it out~ xD

It Started With A Prank Call is pretty funny too.. I love the phrase "Hello, is your refrigerator running?" xD That was so funny.. ahaha..

Yes, but very seldom. I think of it as ripping off the creator, so it has to be very original and good. 😃

I read fanfics before, when I was still new to manga and anime. I was so addicted, I wanted to read everything. I even had a few saved on my computer. Those were the days... 😀

Right now I don't read fanfics at all. The more popular manga and anime gets, the more the quality of the fanfics decline. Also, I'm a lot busier now than I was before. So while I can spare some time reading a manga chapter or two, I can't devote hours of my day reading fanfics (which are usually sooo many chapters long)

I read fanfiction, but not for anime or manga. I've yet to get into that, but I do read for AFI and Harry Potter.

I used to read lemon fanfic. XD And a bit of lime. Eh... I read the one that wasn't full-on sex. Was lime the more innocent one, or lemon? ;-; Well, I read more of the non-so horny. -w-

I used to read a fuckload of Hana-Kimi fanfiction and even wrote some of my own. is sorry for ever doing that now

And sometimes if the characters I'm rooting for in romances don't end up with who I wanted them to end to, I read them.

I stay the fuck away from Death Note, Naruto [YAOI FANFICS. AHHH], Bleach, One Piece and mostly ALL non-romance series.

Yes, I do read fanfiction. (As it is where I satisfy my crack pairing urges. ^^)
