really make a dreadful combo ... well it hit me beat the shit out of me and a bullet shot through my forehead to make me understand^^ I'm starting over which was really helpful especially since teachers and friend help out. SOooo i'm still not out of the dead zone yet (fail) So was wondering what do you PEOPLE DO to live through the hellish course Exams,test,quiz....the existence of itself (haha!)

I didn't have to take my pre cal, calculus or Stats exams.
And I never did any work really either. I mean, Statistics came naturally to me, but other than that, I don't retain much beyond algebra. I don't know how I got through geometry and algebra II, or the upper level maths. I think I actually did my math homework maybe...... twice.

I took Algebra II in 9th grade, Geometry in 10th, and...no more math until college because I hate it. (_) Then in college the first time I had to take Algebra/Trig (by my SAT score they wanted me in Calc, which would have been a disaster), and the second time I had Business Math, Business Stats 1 & 2, and Survey of Calc. I don't remember my HS grades, but I did manage to get As in my college math classes.
Here's what I did in college, as I recall:
Wrote really good notes in class - I think I wrote down everything that was said &/or written on the board.
Never missed a day of class, because I was afraid if I did I'd be lost forever.
When I could, I did my math homework right after class to reinforce what I'd learned that day.
Wrote down any rules, tricks, formulas, etc. and studied them before the tests, along with examples of the kinds of problems that would be on the test.
Reminded myself that if I didn't want to take the damn class again, I'd better learn the stuff. 🤣

I am a Jack of all trades, but I still do posses some strong points
when it comes to learning some subject.
I could do math pretty powerfully. For example I can get the
correct answer quite fast and such, but I have lost all interest
in math which is a subject that does need some practice from me
to learn all the formulae. So in general - math, I hate 'im guts and,
therefore, will be going downhill in my future.

Honestly, the best way to learn something is to find a way to entertain yourself with the subject at hand, I've yet to do that with Calc though so the best advice I can give you is don't sleep during class, do the homework to drive the formulas and tricks into your head and study

Ah, math. The ever-unpopular subject where most people don't take it by choice but have to take it to fulfill some other goal. Here's my advice:
-Having a decent teacher helps, especially for college since you have some control over who you can have (thank god for sites like http://ratemyprofessor.com).
-If you have a math book, try to get a hand on the solutions manual (for college at least, maybe for high school) or someone who knows the stuff. With most of my math teachers, how you get the solution is more important than the solution itself, so if you don't get the problem, consult the solutions manual for help then come back another time and try to do it without any help.
-Constant and repetitive practice with stuff like homework helps drill all the tedious stuff into your head, especially when it comes to derivatives and integrals, which is repeatedly used in upper levels of calculus (which if your taking pre-cal in high school, I assume you'd take the other calculus classes as well). With repetitive
(and probably boring, tedious, and time consuming) practice you'll naturally memorize stuff to the point where it comes to you in an instant.
-When it comes to formulas, don't be satisfied with just pure memorization, try to understand how the formula is derived since it's generally more beneficial to go through the steps and understand how it works. Of course this only helps if you already have the math knowledge to see how it works, otherwise it'll all seem like complete BS.
Out of all of these, the most important piece of advice I can give is probably constant practice and repetition. It may seem the least appealing, but math is one of those subjects where if you don't the material now, chances are you might be screwed when you have to use it again in the future.

It's the bane of my existence.
I reviewed, looked over my notes, did practice problems all night, five hours straight...and I still had no idea what the hell those problems were on the test.
That's what I get for taking enriched courses.

Same here. Ironic though, I just finished my Algebra 2 homework >>>

I'm actually really good at Math (it's necessary if you're a computer science major). I was in advanced math classes throughout high school.
I didn't like pre-cal much though. As math classes go that one was a lot of memorization and crap. Actual calculus was much easier to understand.

Really not sure what grade I'm at with Math considering my studying is a bit all over the place. I know I'm okay with Trig, I'm good with Geometry, but I absolutely suck at Algebra and I have yet to try Calculus. Actually, I should be having my Math ACT prep soon, so then I can score myself.
I go away and suddenly the spammers are the mods. Okay, I can adjust to that, but... Gorath?! And what's up with Mam's not being the top poster?
