Yuri Novel

I am looking for a good Yuri novel, something that isn't too short or to long. It has to be translated/scanlated. If no novel comes to mind then a manga will do.
Thank you in advance.

Maria-sama ga Miteru (novel) is really long, but it's pretty much what nearly everything else you'll find draws from. It's entertaining, translated, too.
Strawberry Panic! (novel) - I truly hate the series but the novel is kind of fun. It's the only yuri novel currently licensed.
The only other translated GL novel is Mai-HiME Destiny (novel). I can't vouch for it.

There aren't many translated yuri light novels. The Strawberry Panic novel is probably the best bet for you.
Otherwise, you could check out some translated Japanese lesbian literature, although there aren't many of those, either. I suggest Temple of Dawn by Mishima Yukio.
There's much more to choose from in manga, so what kind of thing are you looking for?

At the moment something that has a realistic feel would be nice. Perhaps something like Moonlight Flowers and Aido. Both were great stories and had a very real feel to them. I would love to read a teacher/student manga that shows both the ups and down of the relationship. But I haven't some across many of those.
Pretty much as long as they aren't oneshots and have a good hand full of chapters released I'll be happy.
Also I'll be sure to check out your suggestions and thank you for taking the time to reply to my post.

Ah, a male yuri reader with good taste!
Free Soul, Indigo Blue, Love My Life, and Sweet Lovin' Baby: Well-written, very realistic series by an artist who actually is a lesbian.
Pieta: Undoubtedly the most thoughtful, least typical girls' school shoujo-ai out there.
Octave: A realistic depiction of an unfulfilling life, and a nice yuri story.
Claudine: It's Riyoko Ikeda, so it's going to be extremely melodramatic, but she does take pains to portray the transgender experience realistically.
Aoi Hana: Another girls' school shoujo-ai, but because it's by Takako Shimura it has a very real feel.
Pure Water Adolescence is a pretty good student/teacher romance.

I have a list of realistic yuri manga at http://mizuno-youko.livejournal.com/86604.html
There are some one-shots in there, though.
And I second the recommendation of all the titles that Revi_Malsaneta mentioned.
