i think near takes the cake. i had forgotten how much i loathed him since i haven't touched deathnote for a while, but i distinctly remember hating the little bugger. he totally ruined what was my favorite manga (i survived L's death but this...). in fact i pretend the second half doesn't even exist, childish i know but it helps me forget the downhill plunge the series took with his and mello's introduction..

Yeah, I agree.. Near really put a shame on L's name..

Actually, there are many cases that are similar in games and movies to Light's situation. Light initially started killing off all the people who did crimes, and actually decreased the crime rate of the World drastically by his actions. He didn't really become a 'villain' until he started killing off law enforcement that was trying to capture him. Sadly I agree with the actions of Light and thought he was a very refreshing character to have. I feel similarly with Lelouche. Hence that's why my hated characters would be :

1. Suzaku - Code Geass (Hypocritical, and reminiscent of all the characters who go "it's wrong to stop war with war! Peaceful situations are the best! That's why -I'm- fighting you too! I mean c'mon, at least Lelouche and them aren't preaching peaceful solutions while fighting, they've made it quite clear peace doesn't seem to work. I just don't like the character because there's soooo many of these but they're usually the main leads.)

2. Sasuke - Naruto (... Puhlease... Emo/Inconsistency in how he's portrayed relationship and power wise. I can think of much better rivals for Naruto. Granted I haven't been into the series much since the time skip... 666 Satan did the timeskip and the character changes MUCH better.)

3. Onigiri - Air Gear (Must I explain?)

Hmm some reason i found coming up with hated characters a lot harder than coming up with ones i've loved... that's probably a good thing?

Naruto from Naruto. He's a cute kid, but it gets really annoying when he has so much potential, yet after all this time, he's still too dumb and hot-headed to tap into it.

Akane from Ranma 1/2. She's always assuming the worst about Ranma, yet Ranma still has to save her whenever she gets herself into trouble.

Tsukushi from Hana Yori Dango. She's very indecisive which causes a lot of pain to other characters, and causes the story to drag on forever.

There are probably characters I hate more than these, but my mind is a little blank right now =/

@cheesestix: Don't worry.. 😀 If you find a character that you even hate more than the ones you mentioned before, just post it.. Though you have to switch it with one of the characters you earlier said..

I don't hate many chars in mangas although some annoy me at times(naruto, ichigo) But as far as Hating my #1 Is definitley Kucchi from Genshiken.
#2 would have to be Aizawa Miyabi from GTO
