Initial D is totally a shounen but for crying out loud, it's seinen O_O
Chobits should be shoujo, but oh well.

no, Chobits is seinen. It's published in Young Magazine.

Chobits should have been Josei but was published in a Seinen magazine thus it is.... Seinen. The anime does Chobits absolutely no justice at all and degrades it down to Shoujo or Shounen [take your pick] as the anime really does lack the depth of the manga series.

Chobits as a manga is more complex than boy meets girl, but she's a robot. If it was shoujo, they would fall in love and live happily ever after. If it was shounen, they would still fall in love and live happily ever after. The fact that the cute robot girls are not capable of reciprocating such feelings and lead to emotional consequences for their owners might be why Chobits didn't get published in the magazines of the less mature manga.

I think it was fit as Seinen, plus if it wasn't, I would have never read it. Josei manga is a little bit different from the category Chobits is in imo. Yea, I don't agree that it should be a Shoujo or Shounen, because the whole complicated thing is really difficult for a younger person to understand fully.

When I first read it, maybe like 6 or something years ago, I was like all confused because of the whole robot+man+love concept thing, and didn't enjoy it at all. I read it again less than a year ago, and I gotta admit, it was a pretty interesting manga, and it goes a little bit deep into stuff, especially touching on some issues of morality, with a interesting perspective on love and everything, so it definitely fits seinen to me.

Wow, can't the Chobits discussion be laid to rest already?

My question seems to be off topic, but I've failed to find any more appropriate thread (and I've been too lazy to create a new one) to ask it there. So, all manga titles serialized in Dengeki Daioh are labeled as shounen now. However, Dengeki Daioh is listed among seinen magazines. Is it a bug? Or has Dengeki Daioh been considered a shounen magazine recently?

As I recall, Dengeki Daioh is sort of an anomaly without official designation that's intended to appeal to both demographics... I might be confusing it with something else though, but I'm fairly certain that's the case.

Some sources say Dengeki Daioh is a shounen and seinen magazine. So it probably doesn't matter they are listed as shounen or seinen. They are all shounen now. Dunno why.

I read somewhere that Champion Red Ichigo is a shounen magazine. But the titles in it are listed as seinen on here. Not sure which one's more correct.

Simple. The mangaupdate's demographic page is wrong.
The English wikipedia use this page as the primary source. Dengeki Daoh is listed as Shounen.

The Japanese Wikipedia page says Dengeki Daoh is a shounen and seinen magazine. The English only says shounen though. ComiPedia lists it as a seinen magazine.

Whoever labeled my Yotsuba with that vile demographic
should receive a mustard enema.

Does it matter what demographic it is? Truth is that it is shounen. 🤣 Demographic and genre shouldn't determine whether a title is good or whether you will like it.

Being seinen doesn't make something good. I read some crappy seinen and I should call this demographic vile too. 😮

A lot of manga titles are crossovers and some magazines don't have just a single demographic. It's a fact. There's no need to make a big fuss over this. I think everyone being on this website long enough should be familar with such issues.

Seinen have a lot of those too. As long as it is male (otaku) oriented, these things are always there. Age of the audience doesn't matter.

That's why it should have psychological

No... it means it was published in a magazine marketed to boys. Seriously people, your stereotypes and preconceptions of target demographics don't make them true.

I read somewhere that Champion Red Ichigo is a shounen magazine. But the titles in it are listed as seinen on here. Not sure which one's more correct.

My understanding is that Ichigo is considered somewhere in the middle between shounen and seinen, with approximately the same target demographic as Champion Red.
