Best: Best manga-to-anime adaptation I ever watched was Death Note period. It follows the manga completley, and the only difference is a very slightly different ending. The seiyuu for the anime is all perfect too, and so is the quality of the anime itself =]. And the 24 episodes cover the whole manga mostly, unlike a lot of animes which only cover maybe 5 volumes of the manga or less and gets cut shorts. Also no fillers ftw =].

I have to say I'm also enjoying Ga-rei as a anime, think the anime is called Garei Zero, although it's slightly different from the manga, it's pretty cool, and I think Kagura looks way different in the anime to the manga[prefer the manga one]

Worst: Samurai Deeper Kyo- it pisses me off to no extent, espesially since the manga is so badass and really really good artwork, but the anime is piss quality, as well as looking like a anime from the first season of pokemon...basically really crappy looking with cartoonish looking characters and graphics. And the anime in relation to the manga doesn't go by the main plot, misses all the details[big and small], and it uses creatures like weird shaped snakes as enemies...instead of the 100 badass antagonists that appear in the manga. And the anime is modified in most details and is about 1/10 of the actual manga, but doesn't even follow that 1/10 part correctly even.

mai-otome was the worst adaption i've ever seen. I read the manga and thought it was awesome, though ecchi doesn't do much for me, and then got all excited to see it in anime form and they were completely different!

you know what i the best adaption is? the newly released skip beat! it's the best! so far they've kept exactly to the manga, even including alot of the most classic lines and images. the only problem is, they leave the biggest cliffhangers.

Worst - Kuroshitsuji(way to off track from the manga, if it were on its own, its good, but wtf), Gantz(the way they ended it and shit), Dragonball Z(fillers), Naruto and Bleach(fillers only)

Best: Ouran High School Host Club, Bleach, Kodomo no Omocha (I felt the anime was better than the manga because it added so much more cute details) and Rave. But rave was a little disappointing due to the fact it ended so early in the series.... sob.

Worst: Ultra Maniac, Full Moon wo Sagashite, and Pichi Pichi Puri Pitch. i really hated the voice for full moon and pichi, although the singing was really good their voices sounded too mature for a 12 and 13 year old, literally sounding 20 something with a deep, sophisticated voice. and ultra maniac didnt even follow the original plot! >_>

Since you've mentioned this, I think I'm not going to watch kuroshitsuji anime at all...wow. Is it really that bad? or should I atleast watch an episode?

Its not bad until like 7 episodes in and they go to some dog village, after that its been...well, Shit.

Inuyasha
It has no ending, but the fight scenes are great, and the OSTs are suitable to the theme. The quality of the anime is consistent too.

Worst:
*Chrno Crusade *
I absolutely HATE the anime version. The first few episodes are good, but I dislike how they used a new take on some of the terms in the manga, rather than following the original version. They completely change the personaility of one of the main characters, and the ending doesn't leave the same tragic, yet bittersweet feeling like the manga. As a fan of the original manga, watching this anime leaves me feeling homicidal.

Where did the original complexity and mysteriousness of the manga go? The manga shows the complicated relationship between all the characters, even the side-characters. The anime, instead, chooses to focus on the love triangle (or square, if you will) between Daisuke, Riku, Risa and Dark, as well as the "grand" battle between Dark and Krad.

I agree with what has been said about Nana, Death Note and DNAngel. I can't stand Toradora anime (at least it's not adapted from the manga). Like the manga better.

Something not yet mentioned by everyone else:

Good: Ghost Hunt, Ookiku Furikabutte, Zombie Loan, Rose of Versailles (pretty old but better than the manga)
Bad: Spiral: Bonds of Reasoning,
Worst: Monochrome Factor (If you dare to watch it you will know why it is the worst. 😀 However I strongly don't recommend watching it.)
