There both awesome, but L looks cooler than light, and Light became a total wimp at the end, so I'm gonna have to say L.

I voted for light. He never thought that what he was doing was evil. In his own, twisted mind, he honestly believed he was doing the right thing for the world. I think that's pretty interesting, his way of thinking.

I love both evil and smart, but god/justice complex on top of that ruins everything. And Light was an arse hole. So that leaves me with L., who while had those disturbing eyes and constant carving for sweets was bloody smart - c'mon, he was the top three detectives in the world!

Light all the way. He had good intentions in the beginning, but like so many who have power suddenly thrust in their hands, he became corrupted and lost sight of the long-term.

L cuz he's a crazy genius. Light was just a psychopathic killer with god complex. He had good intentions, but the ends didn't justify the means IMO.

Maybe instead he could have had a klutzy moment and had a concusion that turns him into a random killer, then there would be no connections to the killings and no way to find him.
But that would just suck, I couldn't come up with a better ending even if I was paid to make one.
