smut, loli, futa, and yaoi is the only types i don't like, i can read the freaky stuff though

I usually look at the synopsis first. If the story sounds interesting, then I will try it regardless of the genres.

I have tried a couple of shoujo-ai/yuri (not sure the difference) that were mostly "guys are stupid and pointless" so I had to stop, since I couldn't really get into it. But others have been fairly entertaining.

I tried a shounen-ai/yaoi story once...a little weird. The protagonist's friends were the usual perverted guys you find in any comedy story, but they were talking about fantasies with guys. It was too weird for me.

So, I will say that I don't really like shounen-ai/yaoi. But, if there is a story worth my trouble, then I will try it out. Nothing else bothers me all that much.

The middle two especially are just wrong on so many levels. Hentai is basically porn from what I';ve seen/heard and therefore is avoided like the plague.

I'm more tolerant of yaoi than yuri, I guess because of the bishies but still it needs to be exceptional with little focus on the homo side for me to read it. More like it's a story where the main characters happen to be gay. Ecchi and Harem I'm more tolerant of but when it's girls mostly it's degrading which irritates me. I don't want the entire mange to be about how many provocative situations they can put the out-of-proportion teenage girls in.

Yaoi is porn. It also falls in the vast category that is hentai. I'd recommend you go for shounen ai, instead, if you are that put off by the sex.

Yaoi. Everything else, I either like or can tolerate.

Yaoi, Shounen-ai, Lolicon, Shotacon, Doujinshi.

can't stand Shoujo, but there are a few exception that I've read til the end(but didn't like it).

the only thing i usualy not read is Yaoi...but i sometimes do with doujinshis

There are exceptions, but I usually avoid:

Tragedy - Reading is an escape. If a story ends in horrible sorrow I feel depressed.
Hentai - I think it's gross.
Lolicon - Just no. Do not want.
Shoujo - I dislike the art style most shoujo has. Not to mention the horrible personalities of the characters. + love triangles and stupid drama.
Horror - It's either boring or scary to me. I'm not particularly enamored with either of those extremes.

Also anything that's excessively moe girls, slow paced slice of life, or annoys me at the moment.

seems like most ppl here dislike yaoi and shonen-ai, as well as yuri and shoujo-ai, but judging by all the series that are done they must be pretty popular

and most of the hardcore and weird hentai. I like a few of them that are nice, have a plot and actual romance involved, but those are rare >.<

Horror (Unless it's of secondary importance to something else. I don't like horror as the "main" genre of a manga)
