My curiosity made me read a Guro manga. I got through the first 5 pages, and i felt like throwing up and still scarred by it. Seriously how can any one read that?

There are few i dislike:

there are some good shoujo but mostly hate em all...
( these manga's usualy host girls, extremly manly girls, muscly girls and very dodgey looking charactors that show emotions of zombies..."cool looking") yea thats right most shoujo's host guys that look like girls...
alot of zombie drone looking main charactors...who look lifeless...i guess my qwarels lay within the art, yes i am a harsh critic but thats the trend i see and i m not a great fan of that art. chances of seeing anything that looks even mildly "SEXY" doesn't exist aswell. the jonre is too restricted for my liking. OH and the glitter, roseyness shit, bubbles, dandilions, sunflowers and all that superfical stuff i dont mind it however it realy makes it unberable to read through when there are vasts amounts of it...

Yaoi (gay) ok don't know why so many girls like this...its not echi its not fan service its just two gizers rubing eachother the wrong way. Yuri is just extreme fan service right? This aint fanservice exzactly is it? come on now ladies...you don't see two guys kissing to turn a girl on right? BUT i have seen two girls kissing to turn a guy on 😀 Yes i dont need to say much as to why i dislike this jonre...

SLICE OF LIFE : some are good but generaly makes me depresed to read reality...why do i have to read such a slow advancing plot with lots of detail i have no care for so its more real, only a few good slice of lifes i've read but the highest i ever score slice of life is a 7. Its just not a great cup of tea...its just an average cup of tea...why do i want that?

Well I like shoujo but I don't like yaoi and harem shoujo. 🤢
Harem shoujo is find if the main character girl's personality is gar, stoic or have some other unique personality but I find it very boring if the main character is normal or clumsy or just somebody ..normal.
As for yaoi... no matter what the story what's the main character.. I DON'T LIKE IT.
And for yuri, I have no problem but it depends on the story.
The same thing goes for shonen ai and shoujo ai.

I like shonen but I don't like typically shonen main character which like naruto, one piece but I find it well with bleach. How is that? 😕
Hmm.... 🤨 as for ecchi and mecha I don't find I don't like it, it's just I HATE most ecchi which is typically harem and with normal main character.... but if the ecchi isn't harem and with it's normal main character, I like it.
Mecha.... the artwork is full of action so I CAN'T FIND MYSELF INTERESTED IN IT, except for Break Blade, it's full of story than it's action artwork. 🙄

Yaoi/Shounen Ai: Not interested in the least.
Historical: A lot seem to imitate an ugly, almost American style.or they just have odd art. No offense to people who like historical. I prefer the art style common in most manga.
Shoujo: Some are okay, but most just don't catch my interest.
Sports: Sundays are bad enough, keep it out of my manga. Only sports manga I ever read was Eyeshield 21.
Guro: The only gore I like to see is in video games and movies.
Smut: If I want porn, I'll look for hentai.

Unlike most people here, I actually like Shoujo Ai/Yuri.

There's barely anything that I dislike since I've started to push open my reading boundaries but I don't really like Sports(bloody long-ass series) and generally, a good deal of Tragedy(i don't see the point in killing off 3/4 of the cast, just to drive in some plot points in an over-melodramatic manner). Oh and then there's Ecchi or Smut which are often quite boring as they tend to take away all the intimacy, hawtness, eroticness found in Hentai.

Though there are some that I just can't bring myself to read - ecchi and harem... I always feel as if my brain is melting and flowing out of my ears when reading them 🤢

Harem ( I don't mind reverse harem 🤣 ) , Ecchi, hentai, mecha, psychological, yaoi,yuri, shounen ai, shoujo ai, lolicon, josei, smut(with lots of them in the manga, light smut is okay) and probably --- sci-fi.

Shoujo and Yaoi = too unreal, you know why (all models plus absurdly stretched plots/characters most of times)

Sorry, but I think you are having a gut reaction similar to that of certain girls who freak out when they come to the realization that guys like girl-on-girl action. In other words you are... perturbed out of mild (irrational) jealousy?

Again, sorry, but whether something IS fanservice depends on whether the goal is to arouse the reader and in turn whether the reader IS aroused. In the case of yaoi, the answer both times is YES! And whether guys kiss each other irl in order to turn girls on is a whole other matter. Hetero guys irl are mostly homophobic in that respect, they wouldn't do it. Not now at least. Maybe in some years. Frankly girls kissing each other (in clubs etc) to turn guys on was NOT a common occurrence until some years ago. So maybe give it time? grins evilly

Surprisingly after my diatribe above, I definitely don't read Yaoi or Shonen-ai
🤣 🤣 And no Yuri or Shojo-ai either. No shotacon, most definitely NO lolicon. Mecha has to be really good for me to enjoy (like Evangelion). Harem (will do reverse harem though). Student-teacher romance where the teacher is a man (will read ones where the teacher is a woman though). Also applies to school doctor (UGH). Romances where the guy is much older are generally... bleargh. So same goes for stepfather-stepdaughter relationships etc. Those are my no-nos. Who knows, maybe I'll change my mind about Yaoi later on though 😉

But right now, the type of manga I really don't like the most are fantasy shoujo manga. =/ Don't know why, but it never appealed to me.

And the reason why I implied it was not fan service was because of the fact that most girls relate most of these situations to love rather than fanservice you know. Ok im probably wrong but it was a stereotype i was taking into account. And i will see if the future turns the way you think, two guys kissing to turn on the girl they like> the wrong kinda teamwork...lol.
