Genre's I can't stand-
Ecchi- Uh... disgusting form of fanservice... no thank you...
Hentai- No, absolutely not, ecchi is bad enough I don't need to see anything more explicit...
Lolicon/Shotacon- Age gaps I can handle (to an extent) but some romances just shouldn't be thought of and a way older adult being romanticaly interested in a child is... is just creepy...
Mature/Adult- This genre just get's to "mature" and there's no way for me to tell what might come next that I would have rather not have seen...
Shoujo Ai/Shounen Ai/Yaoi/Yuri- I'd rather not read a story about gay couples...
Smut- I veiw smut a bit like I view ecchi and hetai, just goes to far...
Genre's I skirt around but sometimes read within them-
Horror- Just creep's me out, I haven't read much within this genre but there are a few that have perked my interest...
Harem- All those people somehow falling in love with one person just annoys me so much (unrealistic) but there are a few harem's I have enjoyed... a few...
Mecha- Not interested in robots, much less giant robots, but there have been a few series that are all right.

I never can't stand:
Adult manga - it's just too much for me.
Hentai - I don't want to read a manga where the main "plot" is about sex. And the sex scenes are usually so disgusting.
Lolicon/Lolita/Shotacon - I hate pedophilia. Adults who has a sexual relationship with children makes me sick. It makes me even more sick if they rape them.
Guro - do I even have to explain myself?
Doujinishi - Why do the mangakas even bother to make fan based work? The fan works (at least in my opinion) are not even nearly as good as the original one's. They are just crap.
Genres I sometime can stand (but that's not so often because most of the times I don't like them):
Mecha
Sports
Smut
Ecchi
Sci-fi
Harem
I do like all the other genres (which I did not mention in this post)
Eeeeh, look like genres who deal more or less with sex are the bad one here~
Yaoi/Yuri - just like hentai, yaoi and yuri is meaningless with no real plot. It's only sex, sex, sex, sex... The main pairings usually don't even really know each other any well and yet they sleep with each other. It's usually just lust, not love. Like hentai.
Have you ever read yaoi or yuri? Those are genre which may have sexual contents, but most of them aren't as explicit as Hentai, you know. In fact it's like all the other genres: there good and bad, one based on cliche, and other who have a good, original plot. Don't say that if you did never read one of those two genres, or only one of them.
Anyway, I don't really hate any, but avoid:
Harem: most of the time we already know wich one the main character will end-up with, and there are usually a lot of fan service, wich I hardy stand (no matter it is shounen, shoujo or yaoi). The only harem manga which I like would be Rosario+Vampire at the moment.
Horror: For oblvious reason
Trajedy: Trajedy are... sad, simply. 🙁
And a few genres I am not really interested in:
-Mecha
-Yuri -I'm a girl but absolutely not homophobic.
-Hentai

Genres or themes I don't really like
Mecha - Boring and way too unreal . Tho those 80's tokusatsus were funny . But in manga or anime it's a no no .
Futuristic sci fi - Boring to death . I don't fancy aliens , spaceships , laser guns pew pew , chewbakas or anything like that .
Sports - Sounds stupid to me =p
Harem of whatever gender - Just fan service or nonsense stuff .
Yuri - Not my kind of stuff .
Hentai - Just (bizarre) porn .
Male crossdressing or girly guys - That's the only genre/theme that I HATE WITH A DEADLY PASSION . I can't stand it at all even if it just happens once or as a funny event within the plot .
Some shounen - The ones that are only about 'cool fights' / superpower or are simply repetitive ( Eg. Saint Seiya , Naruto or Yu Yu Hakusho ) .
Some shoujo - Most are just idealism melodramas . Too much Romeo and Juliet or perfect relationships .
(Anime only) Screaming characters - Characters that only speak with screaming voices . One day a friend lend me a One Piece DVD and when I was watching it my father ( he was cooking ) asked me "What the hell is that yelling you are watching ?" I asked myself the same question "Why so noisy ?"

Definite Pass --
Hentai -- I hate porn.
Lolicon/Shotacon -- I think this speaks for itself.
Yuri -- definite no. (Look below).
Yaoi -- same as above. To delve a bit further for those who're blowing a gaskit. Yaoi tend to not only be practically plotless, but have a lot of sex in them, which is a major turn off for me, but the innocent stuff coughShounen-ai, and by innocent, I mean, holding hands, kissing, hugs. Pretty much.cough tends to be okay... So just because I don't like reading porn, doesn't mean I'm a homophobe .
Usual Pass --
Adult -- While I don't mind extreme violence, I don't like nudity or sexual content, if it doesn't happen, then I'm fine with it (same goes with Mature).
Doujinshi -- mainly because they tend to be yuri/yaoi/shoujo-ai/shounen-ai <.<...Although if there is one that does NOT have any of those four, I might read it if it sounds interesting.
Smut -- This one is pending, If there's only a little smut, I'll give it a chance, if there's a lot of smut coughMidnight Secretarycough it's a definite pass.
Shoujo-Ai -- Eh, not a fan of it. Will only read if it's by an artist I like, or if it's not explicit. I think the only Shoujo-Ai I've read is Angel/Dust, and it hardly was at all XD.
Shounen-Ai -- same as above.
Ecchi -- I'll only read this if it's by an artist that I'm a fan of. But if there's a panty-flash, or boob-shots every page, I won't read it think of the Rosario+Vampire animes.
Genderbender -- Only somewhat, if it's for comedical purposes I don't mind. But if it's in a yaoi or whatnot, I will not read it XD.
Sports -- Because I find sports (in real life) pointless, I never watch them or anything, it's the same with manga. There have been a few sport-manga's I've read (Prince of Tennis, Area no Kishi), but I usually pass it by.
But I'm fine with pretty much everything else.
By the way, I know I'm going to sound stupid doesn't really care but what the hell is Guro/Ero-Guro? I've never heard of it XD shot.
Edit -- Ah crap, I forgot I already posted in this thread. Oh well...This one is more detailed, anyways.

I find hetero manga boring. I won't particularly avoid it, but it would require a lot plot-wise to keep my interest. Won’t read ecchi or hentai, though - it is just not my thing. Yuri can be alright if it does not come off as fanservice.
That being said, I don’t judge those that enjoy these types of manga because they like it just the same way I like my shounen-ai and yaoi. It is all about preference. (As a sub category, I find "business men" in gay stories rather drab)
Hmmm… Otherwise I’m pretty open-minded. I find each genre comes in spurts of interest; like if a series is good enough, I will grow a passion around the subject. A year ago I may have added mecha manga to my disinterest list, but a part of me is beginning to understand it as I get older. I currently don’t care much for sports manga, bara… slowly growing a pet peeve for "slice of life" (way too static), and I never cared much for mystery. But who knows - that all can change if I find the perfect series to change my mind. shrug

umm... i guess these are the types i dnt like. theres a lot tho. ehe. 😁
-hentai/ecchi/lolicon/shotacon (cnt stand porn stuff)
-yaoi/yuri/shoujo ai/shounen ai (sry but i thnk straight. im not saying its bad 4 anybody else not 2 tho. just my opinion. 😛 )
-most harem (i cnt tell who the main character will get together w/ and i like it when they have 1 person)
-tragedy (its 2 sad! i want happy endings!)
-horror/gore/2 much violence (i only like horror movies and im not in2 ppl just randomly getting hurt or killed 4 no legit reason lol)
-adult/mature (yea u get the point)
-most mecha/gender bender/sci fi/phyco stuff (just... kinda wierd...)
-2 much smut (ahh!!! my eyes!!! lol)
ok! 😀 well thats all the stuff i dnt like. what i do like tho is action, adventure, comedy, romance, supernatural, shoujo, shounen, mystery, school life, slice of life, josei, seinen, sports and martial arts stuff, historical, fantasy, and... i guess thats it! 🤣 but most of the stuff i read must include at least a little bit of romance. 😛

Mecha. I'm sorry, but giant robots alone can't drive a plot for me. If it's only a small focus, then sure, I can handle it, but otherwise I avoid. Sci-fi that is Star Wars/Trek style gets to me, too.
Harem is boring because you waste time on character subplots that don't mean anything in the end and it's boring 'cause you usually know after the first volume who the protagonist will end up with.

When I'm searching for a manga, as soon as I see the words SHONEN AI or YAOI, I click back. Yuri's fine though, and I'm a girl.
Also, when I see FANTASY and SUPERNATURAL together in the genre box, I click back.
HAREM also.
ECCHI too.
SHONEN to an extent.
And the dreaded ACTION, which I stay away from but do read the synopsis and reviews just to see if it's my kinda thing.

It's a little strange:
Yaoi - Never.
Shonen-Ai - Same as yaoi, unless it's a genben (No Bra), them maybe.
Smut - Although I am an ecchi fanatic (kinda) I don't look for sex, which is what this basically is and ecchi isn't.
Loli - I don't mind reading a manga with this, and actually have some that I like, but this might turn me away sometimes.
Shota - I can bear through it but kinda dislike it.
Harem - Once it gets too big, its annoying. 3 to 4 and I'm fine, 5+ I will probably get annoyed.
Action / Mecha - Kinda weary of them online (too many). IRL at the store or library I won't mind them if they look good.
Gender Bender - I pass on all the girlwholookslikeguy + most guywholookslikegirl + most shojo, unless it is a real gender bender (change gender / soul swap).
Shojo / Josei - The younger the audience aimed at, the better, because the way I see it the older it gets, the closer it gets to having 'smut' in it. (unbacked opinion)
Horror - Mild amounts, action included, or Franken Fran, although I'm thinking of possibly getting into it. 😐
Ecchi - If it has too many panty shots and such, I tend to dislike a little.
Hentai - It's complicated. I get little spurts of interest but mostly tend to stay away from this. If I read them, I read them only for the story or for some interesting aspect they have. Human only + no tentacles. (I probably went into to much depth with this) 🤢
Truthfully, I am open to anything, but my preferences are as said. This was probably unnecessarily long... 😔
I care waaaaay too much... 🙁

*No ecchi- it is too annoying/gross
*No hentai
*I dislike harem- too many male/female characters that aren't developed properly
*Don't like shojo-ai, though I haven't read it before but i am not gay so i won't try it... (shounen ai-like Loveless, is okay though)
*Shounen cliches are starting to really aggravate me...
*Horror is okay... BUT I think that the horror mangas with FREAKY art (involving weird looking humanoids, chimeras, zombies...) are totally BAD. They freak my out too much.
*And I also think shojo cliches are boring (there are always shojo mangas involving love triangles/ where everything DEPENDS on misconceptions/misleading things between characters)
*Also, mecha isn't the thing for me. I am just not interested in 'cool' robots & stuff...
Simply another normal human being...

Shotacon
Lolicon
Hentai
Smut (romance, BL and GL)
Harem and reverse harem (romance and BL/GL)
Doujinshi
I filter all of the above plus adult, ecchi, yaoi and romance from my release lists, but these latter four I will read if I find the plot and/or characters compelling enough. I might be able to tolerate harem, too, under certain extremely specific circumstances (eg: stories where everyone is supernaturally compelled to fall in love with the MC because s/he needs all the protection they can give).

I don't like Hentai. I don't know why some people think that Yaoi and Hentai are the same o_0
