I've just realized that I actually read at least one manga per day. o_0; Like, it's what I do instead of watching TV or playing games... Is that bad? Lol.

Anyway...

I'm looking for a long-term romance that follows a couple's ESTABLISHED relationship over at least 5 years. Like for at least 5 years after they "officially" get together or start thinking of themselves as a couple...

I'm not saying it has to be a rainbow-happy romance - although that's great too! The thing is, I'm also okay if they have relationship troubles (even almost-breakups) in those years, but basically, throughout it all, they think of themselves as being together. Everything - good and bad - that comes with a long-term relationship, I guess...

Any genre is fine.

Examples: Itazura na Kiss (follows the couple all the way past college and marriage to having children), Junjou Romantica and Junjou Mistake (at least two of the couples - Hiroki/Nowaki and Isaka/Asahina), Love Mode (Keiichi/Haruomi) and Great Teacher Onizuka (Onizuka/Fuyutsuki, I think, although I admit I'm basing this on the live action series). I think I've covered several genres right there.

It doesn't have to be primarily a romance manga - it just has to feature a main couple (NOT side-characters!) that have been in a long-term relationship for at least 5 years.

Secretly, I'm yearning to read a manga about "growing old together," but that might be too much to ask for (seriously, is there even a manga that covers such a long time-frame?), so I'm settling for the 5-year thing. 😃

Well, this is just me abusing the "rules", but...
For something that superficially fulfills the criteria but most likely isn't what you want, there's always Kurozuka.

Not exactly what you're looking for, but 3 Years follows a three year time span (ya, duh!). And it's not about a couple (kinda), but it's more of a love triangle. I kinda like how the lead has her hair cut in the beginning iirc, and with each year, you see that her hair grows longer. Kind of symbolical of how she "matured".

Never actually read this myself, but I've heard a lot of good things about Complex.

Blood+
The characters were together for decades in the main story. Blood+ A also covers a short period of their life.

Sankyuu, everyone. None of these is EXACTLY what I'm looking for, but it's close enough to satisfy most of my requirements. Thanks. 🙂

Is comedy and some smut ok? Darling wa Namamono ni Tsuki is about the life of a married couple. Currently (5 scanlated volumes out of 8) they've been together for two years. ^^

Love Catalog covers the high school and college years and a bit of what happens after that.

It ends with marriage. It's fairly long and still being scanlated.
