I don't see how people can say portugal lost to a weaker team. Spain is filled with superstars whereas Portugal is not. If you look at the players individually spain has a much much superior team. Xavi, Iniesta are one of the best midfielders right now, so great is their midfield that they have awesome players like Fabregas and the up and coming David Silva on the bench. They have two of the best defenders as well puyol who has been just awesome for Barcelona and Pique who has been referred to as the modern Franz Beckenbauer. They have one of the best right backs, Sergio Ramos plus they have two prolific strikers David Villa and Torres(struggling for form). If torres was in his top form, there would have been more goals. Eduardo made some brilliant saves.Also Spain is still not at thepir best, when they get at their top form, there passing is just on another level and would be even more harder to beat.Portugal did not play to their strengths. They chose to sit back and counter attack when they got the ball. Ronaldo played in like almost a dual wing position and that is asking too much of him. Portugal is unable to use Ronaldo to his utmost. They should have had another winger and instead of just sitting back, they should have attacked.

Also for the germany and argentina match. I think Germany might win, if Messi is not in his top form. Argentina has barely got a midfield and their defense is poor especially with demichelis there.

Yes but the last world cup was 4 years ago. They're different teams now.
Look at Italy and France. Both in the finals four years ago, both bottom of their groups four years later.

I'm not saying Germany don't stand a chance, but I think Argentina have been more consistant. I prefer the Argentina team anyway. More fun to watch.
They have yet to be tested in defence Argentina, and they may be tested against Germany, but their weak defense is made up for their strong attack. If they win it would probably be 4-3 for example if you see what I'm getting at.

I agree. Spain has good passing range and possession and thats the key for an attacking football. The Spaniard has so much possession that their opposition can only resolved to defensive counter-attack style of play. Even thought they lack of areal fight they still got player like Llorente.

If you were to see Argentina style of play, they were all depend on certain individual to win. Maradona even said that his team are only "Messi, Aguero and the others". If those two were shunt from receiving ball or under perform they weren't likely to win the match against Germany, Spain or Brazil.

Also I admired the USA team. All of their match were a thrill to watch except versus the English.
