Yes, Scyfon, your opinion is dead on target. Even though I wasn't for Ghana at the beginning, I feel bad for them to lose against cheaters.

That was atrocious how uraguay won. They stoped the goal with hands. Then beat them on penalty shoot outs? Bah...Well the slyer team one. Hope the netherlands rip them a new hole. 🤣

Hey, Suarez just got probably the best red card in the history of the World Cup. Yea, it was an obvious handball and he deserves to be sent off. But he just took one for the team. Look at it this way, if he didn't slap the ball away, Ghana would have scored, game over. At least by giving up a penalty, he gave his team a chance. I applaud Suarez for what he did. I wish Bocanegra would have taken one for the USA like that when he gave up on that second goal.
.

You applaud someone for CHEATING?
Yes, that's right. Cheating.
It's not a tactical and strategic move, it's a spineless and "pussy" move.
Desperation aside, again, this is bad sportsmanship.
Throughout this tournament, we've seen many times that the handball rule needs to be modified.

Taking one for the team, huh?
I don't understand how people can be so PROUD of themselves winning through such unfair methods.
Where is the honor in that? :\

It's absolutely nothing to be proud of. Grow up.

Seeing how there are so many flaws that have been pointed out in this World Cup alone, Suarez doing that just seems like another drop in the bucket...

Besides, he got a red card and was properly punished for it anyway.

Whoa, get over yourself. Do not tell me to grow up. You do not know me.

He was caught. He didn't get away with it like Maradona's infamous "Hand of God". He'll pay the price. At the same time, he gave his team a chance to win. Yea, I'm probably on the wrong side of this argument. And you can criticize Suarez all you want, he probably deserves it, but don't act like Ghana didn't blow it. A penalty is pretty much an automatic goal. If they failed to convert such an easy opportunity, they don't deserve to win.

I'm not saying either sides deserved to win.
I'm saying that even with Ghana's screw-up at the penalties, Uruguay still has that "stigmata" on them. They may have won through penalties, but people will always remember that handball and thus they will be remembered as "the team that won by handball"

But then again, if it weren't for that handball, it would've been 2-1 and Ghana would've won so.... :S

P.S - Don't take the "Grow up" comment too personally, it wasn't meant just for you.

I didn't even watch the Uruguay vs Ghana match because I was busy typesetting some manga. @_@

But hey, I was hoping Uruguay would win, and they did, so I'm happy. C:

Nah, The way you say took one for the team makes it sound ok 🤣 It was atrocious nothing less than that. He was atrocious, nothing less. Winning can be everything but i'm damn well sure they won't win this cup 🤣 Ghana ranked: 32 Uragay (cheater)ranked: 16.I don't think that looks right to me.

I believe in letting people do as they wish, as do I myself. Sometimes, of course, what I wish to do is kill them and they do not wish to die. This gives life interest.

this is kind of funny, First brazil leads in the first forthy-five minutes with 1-0 and it looked like brazil was going to win and then in the second part the netherlands(my country 😃 ) wins!!!!!!!!!!!!, and that is because brazil screwed up when my country made the goal to make it 1-1 and then 2-1 with help from brazil himself 😁 🤣 quite funny 🤣 but either way i am happy that my country won and i hope that they become the champion 😎

Well, I beg to differ. From what I can tell from the initial reaction, everyone was talking about how Ghana blew it, not how Suarez cheated. But I'm sure if I were in Africa, I would be hearing much different. It's just a matter of who you're asking, I guess.

P.S.: Thanks for clarifying that. I don't take kindly to people taking personal shots at me in the middle of debate (which I love doing). It's good to know it's just a misunderstanding.

Is a shame that Ghana lost, but you have to give some credit to Uruguay, the handball that saved their asses is not the same as the handball that gave them the game.

Ghana missed the Penalty, so is also their fault.

Ghana might have lost but to me they won. at the last world cup it was tier first time so no one was expecting much even with essien on the team and they managed to get to the quarter finals and this year, everybody was looking towards Ivory Coast and South Africa to make the big impression.

I say Ghana won because they have made a strong impression that they can hold their own at big events. anyways i see a rivalry between the USA and Ghana. Ghana is responsible for sending the US home at both the last world cup and this one.

2006 - knock out round
2010 - quarter finals
2014 - semi- finals
2018 - finals.

The race is on to see who would be the first African team to get to the finals of the world cup.
the real contenders are,
Ivory Coast
Ghana
Cameroon
South Africa (IF THEY GAIN EXPERIENCE AND IMPROVE THEIR PASSING)

@StarlightDreams
glad you are happy but sorry to say the won't get further than this.
an experienced team winning like that, is just laughable.
they might have won but i don't think this will be a victory they can go boasting about. especially Suarez or what ever his name is.

Tactics is right on target. 🤣

I don't care about Uruguay. The only teams left that I want to root for is Germany & Spain. (:

What the heck are you talking about? 99% players in football would handball that ball. And that 1% wouldn't because they're too slow. You obviously don't follow football enough. Suarez is gonna be hailed as a hero. There's no stigmata.

And it's not cheating, he got his red card and they got their penalty.

If Argentina come back and win this match, Klose is going to regret not scoring that goal. What an opportunity to potentially finish the game.

Other than that, the Argentian defense sucks and the Germans are playing well 🤣
