Mars is not full of water. There are evidence of ice caps on the poles of the planet. Nitrogen is rich with iron. Microbes exists. If we melt the ice caps, then we can create life and environment on Mars.

Well I didn't mean literally full of water, of course. There is frozen water on Mars, as well as CO2. I think the Martian atmosphere only has like 2-3% Nitrogen? Earth is like 78%. What do you mean Nitrogen is full of Iron?? What I am saying is that you can melt the ice caps, but that environment will not be able to be sustained long term because of a weak magnetosphere and lack of plate tectonic activity.

Ever wonder why Mars is red?

"The red-orange appearance of the Martian surface is caused by iron(III) oxide,"

Life always find ways to adapt itself.

Yes, Mars' surface is rich in iron. I guess I didn't understand your statement "Nitrogen is rich with Iron"??

The nitrogen is a essential part of life for plants. These 'plants' on mars, although small, actually very micro, will pave the way to human colonization by turning CO2 into Oxygen. It's a phrase I use to combine two sentence, nitrogen and iron.

iron(III) oxide is rust, thats why its red, not because its iron. the surface is pretty much useless mineral.

also, melting the CO2 in the caps to use as a greenhouse gas to warm up the planet wouldn't work. CO2 is a very weak greenhouse gas, you would need something much more powerful, like a sulfide.

anyways, since the core isnt spinning anymore and is just cold, any atmosphere that is created will just be stripped away by solar winds since there is no more magnetic field. mars was too small to keep it going.

.....uhhh...how do you get rust without iron........It's a chemical reaction requiring two elements....

With enough CO2, sunlight can become trapped within the atmosphere and gets reflected back to Ground over and over again like a mirror. That's how global Warming is......

To keep life on Mars, we need not the surface, but colonies on the surface or underground.

It's a last line of defense against human extinction. At least we have a place to settle if the Earth goes.

Yes, all life needs Nitrogen, but it needs it in a usable form. There isn't that much nitrogen on Mars, and you would have to start with some "nitrogen fixers" since plants can't directly use N2 gas.

I'm familiar with iron oxide, the soil outside my house is the color of Mars 🙂

You need nods on the root of plants that converts nitrogen into plant usable form for the plant.

Root Symbioses called Nodules.

no i mean, its not iron alone, and cant be used as iron since the reaction takes energy to undo.

global warming isn't because of the CO2, its because of other gases, as far as keeping sunlight in, its very minor.

mars is not going to keep any atmosphere since theres no magnetic field, so making greenhouse gases is useless anyways. thats also why the moon doesn't have an atmosphere.

....I thought everyone knew what Rust is made of, pardon me. I'll say both iron and oxygen for you next time....
My idea is a colony on Mars with protective super strong windows or underground.

"On Earth, the major natural greenhouse gases are water vapor, which causes about 36–70% of the greenhouse effect (not including clouds); carbon dioxide (CO2), which causes 9–26%; methane (CH4), which causes 4–9%; and ozone, which causes 3–7%."

We aren't talking about Earth, we are talking about Mars. You see, Greenhouse Effect describes a situation caused by a variety of substances that results in temperature increase due to reflection of heat and light.

Sorry I keep contradicting you, but to have that type of bacteria, you have to have a full legume plant. Mars can't support a plant, soybeans for instance. There's no organic matter on Mars.

Anyway, there is a whole plethora of odd bacteria, that have little to do with the macrobiotic life humans are used to. Some of these may work on Mars, but the ecosystems we are accustomed to on Earth will probably not work.

Add-on ...
Of course in a human controlled dome alot more is possible 🙂

.....I never said to have the life on the surface, I said to build a compound covered with strong glass or something. Or possibly underground.......it's the third time I said this......Slowly, we can then extend the compound and slowly change the atmosphere of the planet until we have a Mega structure covering the whole planet.

also ares6, nitrogen released by plants are extremely, extremely, extremely slow. its rate is only a bit more than the amount of nitrogen released by lightning. and to release nitrogen from plants, its not like plants make nitrogen, they simply change it into a usable form, since the majority of the nitrogen in the air is unusable by organic organisms. u can't create what u don't have

being that there will be again, no magnetic field to protect anything, no ozone layer to protect anything, everyone will die within a few years from solar/gamma/etc radiation that the sun gives off. no, glass isn't going to protect against that. you need at least 6 feet of lead.

What the......you know...I'm not going to repeat what I already said for 3 times....now I understand the Special Ed teacher. Wrong, you people need to learn modern physics. A plasma shield was patented a few weeks ago. Also, radiation can be filtered out with thin materials. A super compressed layer of different materials.
