Now, it's so cold in Mars because of its distance from the sun, that's you'd need a HUGE power supply to create a man-made dome. Melting the ice caps, will probably result in freezing, unless you can find a way to generate energy there to keep the temperature constant. We'd need some sort of artificial plants that can convert nitrogen gas to nitrate (?not sure if nitrate is the one), a usable form, but you'd need an oxygen supply to do that.
And if any of you don't know, plants don't convert the nitrogen themselves, bacteria that live in their roots do. So researching microbes would probably be a good idea right now.
@ares6: who cares if its dangerous, its unmanned anyways. if it goes off, just send another one. *sigh >_>. and i don't have patience for a station of that caliber. i would like to see someone's arse on mars before i die.
i wonder about the power supply, though. it's unfeasible to move the power from earth to mars. rather, what's under mars' crust? does it have a huge layer of magma? if so we might be able to tap into that energy.

what are the chance to terraforming venus. of and you guys should take gravity as a factor. and who agrees with me that well nver mind
I think a probe was sent into Venus' atmosphere, but melted before it got to the surface. The atmosphere's a large portion carbon dioxide ... maybe we could just pipe it all off of Venus and dump it on Mars 😀
