As far as whether it's humane or not, I wouldn't know since I was never scaled and eaten. But it's very common, it's how most of your chicken nuggets are made (as far as I know, butt-hurt animal lovers might have changed it).

In fact, fish made fresh tastes better. We make steamed fish and take out it's innards, scale it, and pour soy sauce in it, and after that it still twitches around a bit (though it by definition it is dead)

what's wrong with eating fish fresh? i mean it can't get any fresher than that.
it's eating sushi, the fish is seafish so there is not much bacterias or parasite in their flesh
look at this, it's personally my favorite dish.
the fact that it's semi-alive and sucks on your mouth is very fun. i just love that feeling!
