I'm looking for something along the lines of Sakura Gari or The Cornered Mouse Dreams of Cheese. Just mainly yaoi with an interesting plot and have really good characterization(and not too hardcore graphic images...). Not Cut though. As you may or may not be able to tell, I'm a bit of a recent convert to yaoi/BL so I'd prefer something that's a bit softer and not too hardcore.

you could probably try Complex.
It does have some ... intenser scenes...but they are few and far between and also not really that intense.
But the story is just ....BWAAAA ! No description i can give you would be enough to describe the greatness of this story ! It's just beautiful ! One of the few mangas that made me cry .
Give it a try ! I don't think you'll regret it 🙂
----> Short plot : it follows the story of two friend from when they are 11 yo and until thei are 80 or such ! ( which it's very unusual for an yaoi manga...actually i don't know of another one like this !)

Ohh, and please do not get discouraged by the first chapter ( it has a bit of shota in it 🙁 ) !! Just read ahead and you'll see that it's worth it 🙂

Another one i quite liked was Dear Green: Hitomi no Ounowa.
It's also longer and pretty deep. The two main characters start as straight and the relationship develops slowly but naturally. I loved it ! They are also quite manly ( in comparison to the usual seme-uke styles you get in an yaoi or bl ).

Short plot ----> A high school girl introduces her new boyfriend to her childhood best friend. After the relationship ends, the two boys still remain friends. In the story they already finished high school and are working.

Other mangas that i also loved and that might fit your request:

Sorenari ni Shinken nandesu - beautiful story, beautiful art. The relationship between two grown up men ( one gay, one straight) , which at the beginning isn't that good, changes afterwards. It involves a cute child 🙂

Mirai no Kioku - this one is also quite good. But it does have sex scenes, so...

Doushitemo Furetakunai - again, beautiful but with sex scenes 😛

50X50- this one is one of my favorites, but it's more of a comedy. Still, it's a pretty good read : light and sweet. and the h things are very mild 😛
