Certain Type of Shoujo Romance

Can anyone recommend a shoujo where the heroine actually chooses and stays with the nice guy and not the hot, sexy, unstable one? I mean really, bad boys are good, but every once and a while I want to read a sweet romance where the girl chooses someone who loves her and acts like it. Normally these guys don't act like they love the girl until after they both confess and it's almost over. GET ME A HEROINE THAT CHOOSES THE GUY WHO ACTS LIKE HE CARES. When I say care, an example would be that they are close friends or enjoy being with each other. This bans series like Itazura no Kiss (I really felt like beating that guy up and slapping the girl, even though it was a pretty good series).
In short, I want the type of manga where the girl chooses the friend after learning something new about him or realizing her feelings for him. No overdramatic love triangles either (those are too easy to find). It makes me sad when the heroine's really close male friend mopes around after loosing her but remains her friend to stay by her side.

I second this request and recommend Mekakushi no Kuni, as a really good example of what you're looking for.

I'd recommend Lovely Complex, the two main characters become friends (they bond over their love for a certain singer) before anything romantic starts up.

I don't think a shoujo like that exists.
Glados is a bitch. She made me kill the companion cube, the only friend I'll ever have. 😢

If you don't mind gender-bender, the couple in W-Juliet are good friends & treat each other well (that's one of the things I love about it, actually). There's occasional sort-of love triangle-ish stuff, but nothing too bad, and the guy never treats the girl badly. 😃

If you haven't already read Venus Capriccio, I think it'd fit. It's got the whole close childhood friends thing, with a gentlemanlike, caring guy and a tomboyish girl.
