Good and Evil
I believe that with knowledge came good and evil. Where there is good, there is evil. Where there is evil, there is good.
I believe that there will always be a balance between both, and as long as humans have knowledge then the extinction of either one will be impossible.
By acknowledging this balance, I believe its easier for people to grow morally so that people don't hold onto foolishly idealistic notions.
What are your thoughts about balance and/or origins of good and evil. And how have these beliefs shaped your morals and ethics? (O yes, time for you folks to get deep here)
And try to leave religion out of this, because you might get offended when someone challenges you're religious beliefs and teachings.

And it's our job to keep that balance. If one side of the scale ever got heavier the world would fall into chaos. Or something like that. But my morals aren't based on such things. 🤨

I believe there is neither good or evil, is just a matter of point of view
Things are never black or white, they come in different tones of GRAY
I run my life with 2 forces, LOGIC and Common sense... Religious Zealots can just die, the world would probably be a better place if they did.
Never do to others what you wouldn't like them to do to ya 🙂 😃

Anyone else see the irony? (Sorry, I couldn't resist).
I would agree that in absolute terms, good and evil are nonexistant. Our morals are shaped when we are raised in order to benefit society by basic thoughts like "killing is bad" or "charity is good", but ultimately everything is subjective.
From a personal standpoint, I tend to become more focused on understanding the moral positions of others than I am concerned with my own actions. I often find that I have gut reactions to the way people act or speak, and I become curious as to what could allow them to think that way. In the end, we're all just humans. it's not like we act with the intent to be "evil".

What about those that disregard LOGIC and common sense and just do what they want, regardless of the consequences?

Those people are defined as sociopaths.

You, my young friend, are misinformed and bigoted. I find atheistic zealots to be far more annoying that religious zealots. Hell, atheism has almost become a religion itself, lending to the aim of converting people to their 'logic and reason'.
As far as right and wrong, I find allegory and parables to be the best compass to find what is right and wrong. The Christian Bible, when addressed merely as a work of literary fiction, has many good parables within it's pages. Most religious texts are in fact law texts defining the social expectations of their respective populous.

Hehe
Yet there will be consequences 😀
Is not like you can start killing people and get away with it
Logic is to never let anything taint, my own reason, and common sense is to avoid said consequences 🙂
You can do anything you want (you really can), but for every action there is always a reaction 🙂 you can just push your luck for so long 🙄
EDIT: atheism IS already a religion, and anyone that is a Zealot, in my eyes is just a blinded pawn

sounds familiar to this - http://www.mangaupdates.com/showtopic.php?tid=973&hl=ethics
i don't believe in good or evil... it's all up to each individual to define "good" or "evil" in their own sense...it's all about the point of view, so rather than good vs evil, i think it's more like man vs opposition...for the most part, society set up certain standards to define "evil", but that'd contribute to majority rules, when the minority of criminals and such would embrace "evil" as "good"...
there is no balance between what's right and wrong, just actions that are interpreted from different points of view
Logic involves figuring out the path that has the least consiquences and give you the most benefits.
Doing the what is "right" can be defined (from the ethical moral stand point) do whatever there is the most reason to do.
Therefore Logic is to reason. Reason is to figure out what is right.

Almost. I'm talking about Good and evil, the underlying factor to morals.

The bible has indeed many good things, but you should never use it as the rule to measure life.
No book can truly prepare you for all the situations that you will encounter in your life, Religion in general, can only do so much for you, the rest? you should figure it out yourself.
My motto is to live the best life I can, and to do that I MUST always try to be happy
, how can I give advise to others when, I as a person suck?
Live your life as you want to live it, never let anything or anyone change your heart, but in the end remember there will be consequences to all your actions, but If those actions truly came from your heart (I prefer the term brain, but is best to enlighten people If I use heart) then without matter the consequences, you will be truly without regrets 😀

Fictional stories used to show moral lessons and what is right and wrong. Nothing I said lent to any other definition.
No book can truly prepare you for all the situations that you will encounter in your life, Religion in general, can only do so much for you, the rest? you should figure it out yourself. Did I say otherwise?

How is that relevant? If everyone were to live life as they choose, murder, robbery, rape, etc. would all be acceptable.
Consequences exist to make people reflect on their decisions, right or wrong. All actions have consequences, but not all consequences are bad.

That's contradictory don't you think? If I want to kill everyone I see, but I know I can't because of the consequences, I wouldn't be living my life the way that I would want to be.
Also if I were to go around killing everyone I see, and I got caught and killed, won't I regret not killing those who killed me?
When your talking about ethics, you have to include any and every scenario.

Heh is not, If you want to kill 50 people in a mall, and you do kill them, there will be consequences, but If your heart truly wanted that, you would be fried without regrets, I am not saying is "good" for society or the people you killed, but in your eyes you did good >_>
I know is hard to understand, but bear it a little longer
If you are going to regret dying, then don't do anything that may get you killed, if you are going to regret the punishment then don't commit the crime, if you won't have any regrets then go for it, but remember is common knowledge that in your last moments is when you think more clearly, maybe you thought you wouldn't regret it, but in the end you did, that is why you should think a lot before doing something that may result in a punishment of some sort.
For me nothing is more pitiful than a person regretting its actions, then again living your life without regret is impossible, saying things like: I should have done this, If I could change that, maybe I should have done that... Nothing will change if you live in the past, the best you can do is learn from your mistakes and hope you never commit them again.
My way of thinking is quite Chaotic and hard to understand, but it works for me
I believe good and evil are necessary to each others existence.
One cannot exist without the other, and if they ever cease to exist, we will have moved beyond morals into a state of the unknown.

Chaotic? Your way of thinking justifies someone being a sociopathic killer.
But anyways, that's your thoughts, no matter how illogical it may seem. I wouldn't live my life by them, but to each his own.
