Best Shoujo

Top 5, in no order:
- Kare wa Tomodachi
- Summary : Girl who fell in love with a guy, and a scheming childhood friend who never wants to let him go. A+ heroine, and you could really feel for the guy.
- Kimi ni Todoke
- In my opinion, the best shoujo out there. Vampire Knight, Skip Beat, Hanakimi, doesn't even come close to it.
- Garasu no Kamen / Glass Mask
- As someone said, a true classic.
- Oresama Teacher
- I love the crack and humor in this manga, and the gangster girl trying to turn into a cutesy princess is hilarious.
- Shugo Chara
- Every once in a while, I like to douse myself with a straight-forward, mahou shoujo. Every girl and their mother probably ships Ikuto x Amu, and I am no exception.
Note: I'm a former yaoi fan. Would that be enough to tell you how high I rate these shoujo titles, considering it's the genre that I got so pissed off with in the beginning? 🤣
My Other Manga Threads
Search for these threads as links would kill my sig limit.
- Middle School Heroine Love Stories
- Older, Gentle Male Love Interests
- Romance with Capable Women/Heroines
- Wise Male Mentor x [DECENT] Heroine
- Gangster/Physically Strong Main Heroines
- Romance with Stubble Chinned Guys Because It's Sexy
- Love Triangles Involving Male Teachers
My threads are as specific as they can; it's good if they can help you out!

I have to say Cat Street. A lot of shoujo aren't as original as Cat Street. The manga left me with a good feeling. Compared to Cat Street, I find other shoujo lacking in their story.
I also like Kanata Kara. This shoujo was very cute and I like how the female character wasn't weak and always depending on the main male character.

If you ever feel un-lazy, I'd love to hear which ones you liked. You seem to pick the interesting ones.

It may be a newer series, but the story is one I've never seen before.
Dengeki Daisy!
Compelling, dramatic, funny, original and romantic. A great series that's worthy of competeing with any older classic manga.

This.
As well as Aoi Hana (which has no demographic but it could be seen as shojo-y)

Itazura na kiss one of the best mangas it has inspired many other mangas including fruits basket but it's such a shame she had to pass away before finishing the series. 😢

Kanata Kara, hands down.
Go to work, send your kids to school;
Follow fashion, act normal;
Walk on the pavement, watch T.V.;
Save for retirement, obey the law.
Repeat after me: I am free.
