I use the word gay the same way I use the word girly. There's nothing wrong with being a girl, but it's weird/funny for a guy to act that way.
I guess when I hear the word gay I don't think homosexual, but flamboyant

I like gay jokes, racist jokes, and sexist jokes, I think stereotypes are hilarious. I even make fun of my own race, but I never mean this in a demeaning way, I just can't help but laugh.

Gay people are cool, I know a lot of them and yes we all CAN be friends if one of us is gay, sexuality does not stop me from making friends with them.

When The Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders was published in 1952, male homosexuality was considered a mental disorder. Same as sexual fetishes. If you were a male and went to a psychiatrist at that time and said you feel attracted to your own sex, it was highly probable that you'd be put in a psychiatric institution. Further reading

I don't agree with that opinion, but what can you do. The entry of homosexuality as a mental disorder was revoked around 1970s, I think. As my TA said 'what can you expect is a bunch of old men get together to write a psychiatric manual'...

first off i think its instinctive to categorize people into sects and extremes its everywhere religion politics philosophy but the area thats become fuzzy is that though people put themselves into this genre of eventuality a simple idea like assimilation begins a long journey of prejudice hatred and eventually murder against thoughs who don't fit the norm. So in saying that be realistic and stop bullshitting. Flonting catchy phrases like "Don't discriminate" instead try to be a little self-indulgent to people unlike you but accept the fact that until the end of humanity people will hate and judge and pratronize and alienate until either we really do become this uniform facist comforming nation made of humans who looke exactly the same or humanity becomes extinct

i don't see why sexual orientation can really be a barrier in making friends. I think the biggest barriers come from religion =(.

Hmm to answer the question, when I say gay I dont mean homosexual. Like most swear words, the term gay in the way I use it has a different meaning. I've known many homosexuals and most know when I say somethings gay I'm not insinuating anything about them, Im just saying something is a let down or dumb

i've already accepted that, and thats why i dont see humans most humans worth my time, and ultimently, why we are going to end up exterminating ourselves.

Other, most of my friends don't use 'gay' as a derogatory. I don't think it should be so I don't use it my self.

I'm probably an intolerant person, but me and my friends make a distinction between "gay" and "checca". The second word is an italian detractive expression and we use it to indicate guys who insanely exasperate their behavior in a feminine way.
I remember that during a dinner we were speaking about carnival and a guy said: "You guys really should see me dressed with my cat-woman costume" making a extremely effeminate gesture aimed at me and a friend of mine (I didn't know him until that day). I really wanted to puke.
So we just use the term "checca" instead of "gay" making jokes, etc
I wanna point that I've no problem with gay people, instead I'm really grateful for them, 1 gay = 1 more free girl in the world.

One of my closest friend(since 4th grade) is gay and I had lots of gay acquaintances. Back in my High School there were in average 2 gays in a class of 45 and that may be the reason why I really don't see them as different from me. I treat hear in the same way I treat my anatomically female friends. I'm not being tolerant because there's nothing to tolerate.

It really upsets me when I hear people deride or insult them and I can't see the reason why they do.

Well....

Many of the people I hang out with are lesbians.... they're actually more fun than most straight women, IMHO..... by nature, non-straight people are less uptight and are more tolerant towards most things in life.

There's nothing hotter than beautiful women caressing each other on a dancefloor.... too bad I can never convince them to come home with me 😕 ... most of the hot chicks tend to be lesbian... such a waste.

As for gay dudes.... I know a few, and they're pretty cool.... they know I'm straight, so they don't try anything.... I've got no issues hanging out with them, as long as they can handle my gay jokes.

I've got no interest in people, anyway... so it doesn't bother me what their preferences are.

One things for sure.... I'd never trust a straight hairdresser to cut my hair.... gay people seem to be better at stuff like this.
