In Chinese, it was pencil "sum" LOL. I thought it meant lead (because it's called lead pencil!)

"sum is core". "yun" is lead. Yun sum = pencil lead.

Pencil lead is is made of graphite. I have no idea why it's called lead. I guess it used to be made of lead?

And yes you can still see it under the skin but it's a bit more faint now.

For some reason cats jumping over corpses is believed to turn them into vampires.
My grandma told me a cat jumped over her dead uncles corpse and he got up and walked off in a straight line until it hugged onto a street pole then fell back down.

really? in malaysia, it said black cat jumps over a corpse make it come back as "hantu pocong". a ghost that jump to travel. i wonder wether it'll fall if i trip it?

"Cats have a lot of static charges, when they jump over a corpse they charge them up and they walk in a straight line non-stop until they hit a lighting pole or any other pole which grounds the electricity ."

Another one: if the wife is pregnant, she should step over her sleeping husband so he'll get the pregnancy pains (like vomiting and stuff) and she'll have an easy time with her pregnancy.

Here's a Japanese one they used to use to predict the weather. You kick of you shoe and if it lands facing up the weather will be sunny, face down rainy.

lol yeah that's what they were doing, if you notice Chiyo makes a comment about the shoe landing up later in the episode.
