For the lists feature. I wanted to keep track of what I've read, and what I want to read in the future.
Spent 5 days straight trying to find all the manga's I've read ... Which I still haven't got all of them yet ...
( I had searched Completed romance - Which there's idk over 50 pages with 100 manga each page.)

Then I started posting in the forums. First in the I'm looking for section, then moving to the others.

I joined for the lists feature, but stuck around for the forums.

-Sidenote. Yes, I know this is an old thread I'm bumping up. and Yes, I know I've been bumping up old threads lately 😛 Brings nostalgia feelings anyone?

At first I just lurked around, and then I decided to join. It was so magical back then, loads of new series to read. I remember I used to only read shounen manga but then something happened and my lists are full of shoujo titles... The lurker part didn't change much, though. I rarely reply to any topic, but I'm always reading. 😳

user lists. I like rereading stories so it bothers me when i forget the name of them

First was for the info and the looking for section 🙂 After that was the list 🙂

I joined because I recently joined MyAnimeList but I was just using it for manga so someone recommended this instead haha

I was probably checking out some animu stuff from bakaupdates and joined this site, although I have no idea why I did. There must've been some limits for lurkers back then, since I would've not been arsed to do it otherwise. To think I've been on this site a quarter of my life.

Definitely because of the "Advanced Search by Genre" Feature. Tracking all the Manga I read is amazing, but this was clincher.

Since I use MyAnimeList too, I'm already tracking down what I'm reading... But MAL lacks organization, something I really in MU:

• For the Releases thing, very useful to know new chapters and also new mangas;
• Categories! Great way to know what is inside the manga without giving too much spoiler;
• Advanced Search, good to find new mangas with genres and categories I like, good to find the mangas I like in my own list etc etc;
• Forums, to ask for recommendations, steal recs from another threads;
• Very simple. It has all these useful tools and it is simple to use, if you read the FAQ once you can know how things work and start using...

TL;DR, very useful tools to know about new mangas and new chapters.

Several reasons:

1. It's a great info site
2. Wanted to make lists for sorting
3. For the forum
4. For chapter updates
5. Liked the categories feature

Lol i joined because I found the polls interesting and wanted to put my own two cents occasionally =D

I don't need to join the site in order to look up information about manga so that was the incentive for creating the account xD

Lol everyone else's post are for the site's functionality, I feel like an oddball

to keep track of what i already read. using a laptop at work and my desktop at home made it tough to keep an accurate list going on my completed series. 😀 now i use it mostly to search for new series to read

I joined because I started reading too much manga... 🤢
After watching a number of anime, I forced myself to make a list after rewatching some series by accident. Same thing started to happen when I began to read more manga~

It's super convenient to have symbols next to the releases to find what I want to read quickly. It also makes it easier to find series that I have not read
