Oh, I see what you mean zetsui. If the wind-up motor could provide enough power, I guess it would work. Still, the net advantage would be 0, since you are still manually powering the skate.
As for the pressure sensitive multi-wire switch, it sounds like it will work. However, I think the main concern is if there is any small motor that currently is available that can power a motorized skate for a long time at decent speeds.

well i'm going away on another lil trip for two week, in a country with more internet cafe i hope <_<
i'll see what i can think about while i fly over the atlantic, maybe the upper atmosphere will suggest some new ideas ^_^
anyway i've put togethere a lil schematic and the main 2 parts that i'm still missing are the engine and suspension, i think we are good with the batteries, i'd suggest to work on those.
see you in 2 weeks top ^_^
p.s. light i hope you'll get well soon. i've been in an hospital for some time and i know its' not exactly fun and game ^_^

well, i'm not really sick or anything. just fainted coz lack of sleep. i only sleeps 3 hours a day so i just fainted. my friend got a lil' worry so he called the ambulance. nothing to worry about.
so, if i get what dancwart is saying, it means the li-poly batteries is good for this right?
suspension...... if we can find pneumatic suspension small and strong enough it'll be great. but if we use agressive inline-skate suspension frame, is it able to absorb the shock? i mean, if we use engine and little elecronic parts, a shock can really be devastating to the electronics.
engine..... i got nothing. man! if there is pneumatic engine that small it'll be great. but i can only wish for it. lol
edit
hello? anybody?
