Heyy another newbie but im all up for the idea, ive been reading over the last 3-4 pages and the first 7 pages or so.
I was kinda thinking that the compressed air would 'only' have a nos type effect, well depending on how big the tank is.Im not to big on electronics and such.

(Edit)

Btw ive been thinking about the pressure system for the toe/front of the foot, like the anime but when yew land a jump they would just take off. But, there could just be a Air Trek for certain purpose's, like a Race Air Trek and Trick Air Trek both designed for those purpose's.
Although a Universal Air Trek is what 'everyone' wants including me, i was thinking on the way to my mates that the pressure system would be best, i mean it would be hard maintaining concentration while using a throttle and skating.

(Edit)

Lol again.
The wheels should be kinda big compared to the normal wheels.

Has anyone here actually thought about Parts War?
I mean a real website, www(dot)PartsWar(dot)com?
I dunno how to make websites but it would be great as me and my mate have already got some terreitory(Mispell) around our neighbourhood.
Btw I live in Australia so it would be hard for me to help. =/

(Edit)

I found an interesting electric rollerblade attachment.

i just want to ask "What motor would we be using?" i think the motor is the the most important thing right now

First off id like to point out once again, that you aren't going to buy these from someone. We are working together to make a design plan and a basic prototype, personalization will be entirely up to the individual. But even the basic model will be built by "you" the individual, we're just sharing the tools. Now the thing about the motor is it's completely up to you. As long as your wheel remains between 1,25-1,5" thick and 4-5" in diameter it will probably fit into the design plan that ikki-san and his friends are working on. The main problem we are looking at right now is power, we need to find a battery, although i suggested li-ion, a very technologically inclined friend of mine suggested going with the same type of battery as what you would find in today's modern cars. I forget what he called it, (alkaline acid batteries or something). Now don't get me wrong, he's not suggesting this as a long term power supply, it's only for the prototype. He explained to me that Li-ion is very picky about it's current levels, and doesn't work well if the levels don't meet it's standards, however acid batteries are very lenient and easy to charge. It would also be alot easier to obtain one with the right voltage and it would be much cheaper than ruining a nice Li-ion during the testing stages. It would be heavy but for a prototype in the testing stages, who cares. After we have a working model and have all the math done and checked for errors, we can switch to a much less bulky and more practical Li-ion. 😀

Lol, yeah i knew we'd be making it i just thought id put my 2 cents worth in 😛

But yeah once the blueprints are done i wont be sleeping till im done making the AT. 🙂

So as battery wise the suggestion is a car battery?
Or the same as a car battery but smaller?
Just wundering. 🙂

Btw how fast do we intend for these to go?
50 KM? (35 miles estimated)
I mean that is quite fast >.<

essentially yes my friend suggested the same type of battery but something you can carry in a backpack, again only for prototype. As for speed, it not likely that we will be able to pass 40km/h. Were looking for a motor with high rpm but enough power/Watts to be able to accelerate. Roughly that's around 3200 rpm give or take and 300W should be good, personally I'm thinking of buying one of the motors goldenmotor.com has and checking to see if I'd be able to remove something to shrink it down to the right size, there are a couple motors that fit the bill but are just a little too big. I'm thinking i'll get the pm-24 which is a printed motor that has 180 W power and 3300rpm but only requires 24v power supply, it's diameter is 158mm just over 6". Than I'll prolly get one of the in-wheel motors, I may decide to work on a few different prototypes. The only problem i see for in wheel is that they are mostly made with the assumption that the wheel will be much larger than the diameter of the motor, so the performance curve on the website only goes up to around 500 rpm, now this doesn't mean that it's max speed is 500rpm, it's just with a larger wheel, you don't need as high rpm to reach high speeds, so they only do the math for tires between 16" and 26". Of course if you take a motor with a power output of 500W with 400rpm speed than you could change the current to lower the power and bring up the speed. The problem is the website doesn't tell you what top speed the motor can handle before it begins to overheat and breakdown.

well mcblaise, we have ikki-san and his friends working on a design for the rollerblades and we've decided that since big companies won't sell individuals the motors that they make, we'll have to get our motors specially ordered through hobby shops. To elaborate on that, even a hobby shop will have trouble getting the motors unless they buy a large amount. So what I suggest is that we decide on a hobby shop together, and than discuss with the owners of the hobby shop and see if they could get the motors for us if we provide them with enough individual orders. Now I'm not saying that we should combine all our orders because then all of the motors would be sent to one recipient and it would be them who has to distribute it to every1 else. But if we ask the hobby shop to place the order once they receive a certain amount of orders from us, than the motors will be sent to each individual directly from the shop. This will avoid any possibility of someone running off with our motors. Unfortunately this means we will all have to decide on one type of motor. So i suggest every1 does some research on in-wheel or printed motors, preferably with speed around 3000rpm, power output better than 180W, diameter between 4"-5"and under 3" thick. Now 3000rpm may be pushing it a bit so we could settle for 2500rpm. If you ever had 11th grade physics, remember your conversion formulas, they will help you in finding a motor. One of which is P=VI P; being Power/watts(W) V; is Voltage(v) I(like eye not el); is current/amps(A). An equation for this formula would look something like 5000W=50v100A with any one of the values missing so for example P=50v*100A, sorry about the physics lesson lol

Well from what i know they are.
Lol.

Well anyways, 40km hmmm...
You know if there was a company making a motor just for ATs there would be no problem but that would cost alot of moneys, lol.
I'd say we could possibly go faster but at adding more wieght. 🙁
Hmmmm....
Well im just gonna keep trying 🙂

yeah
I knew its possible to make air trek
because theres a lot of good engeneers around the world
its just there not interested 😢
have you heared about the h2o powered car
it was invented by a filipino like me
it powers the engine by seperating the hydrogen from the oxygen
and use the hydrogen to make combustion but it wasn't publish beacause of lack of support from the government 😔
even the vehicle used in the moon was designed by a filipino
I just wanna say that theres a lot of good engineer around the world even at a corrupt and ugly country like mine
the Philippines 🙁
