Lezard, I'm not sure if everything can really be called an oldie...
Like NHK (2004) or Homunculus (2003)... Although I agree they are good. But not really oldies.

I only recently started reading manga and i don't know that many series so i'd like to ask your opinion on some old or not so popular good mangas.

They dont have to be "old" Stealth. Homunculus might not be old, but i dont think it is all that well know and popular aswell. NHK has become popular (i think), but because he says that he's new to manga, i figure i might aswell list that one aswell sense its a good manga that i can see him liking.

youve ONLY just dedicated yourself to manga? haha, been there, done that already. i thought homunculus was connected to fma, but i guess i was wrong. and i never use irc, i know how to use it, but i just dont for some odd reason, i prefer direct dling

Yeah direct downloads rock 🙂
But lurk has most of the series out there ( that i know of ) and has them in volumes instead of chapter by chapter... mangatraders has those same volumes in direct format but damn i always have loads of problems with the downloads there
🙁

If you like slapstick/foolish comedy I recommend Kinnikuman. It's old and unpopular, though very good.

Aha, are we not counting Prince of Tennis, Eyeshield 21, Major, or any of the actually good sports mangas? I mean, for goodness sake, even Yakitate Japan would be a better sports manga...if baking was a sport.

I'm not sure if these count as old but, here we go:

Bokko (one of the best seinen I've ever read. Impressive in strategy, history, narration and storytelling!)
Benkei in New York
Hotel Harbour View(plot is okay but the art makes up for it.)
Strain(already mentioned, right?)
Poppoya Love Letter(brief but extremely touching)
