I have a question!
"How do you add recommendations to a series you are reading?"
I came here to suggest that too!
"How do you edit recommendations on a series?"
I mean it looks like there's two sets of recommendations, a beta of computer generated recommendations and then a non beta list of recommendations that is generated by....elves?
It was confusing enough that I am posting for the first time since 2009 lol.

You didn't read the reply to that post. You can't edit recommendations for a series

Q) What do I do if I can't add anything to my lists?
A) Clear your cache and cookies.
If that doesn't work get a program (you find on your own) to clean your computer, use a different browser, or uninstall than reinstall the browser you're using.
*Q) If a manga is completely published and licensed in English does this mean it's also completely scanlated?
A) No. The two do not mean the same.
Q) What do I do if something needs to on a page needs to be changed, but it's locked?
A) Submit a request change. This can be found on the User CP.
[Q) How can I keep track of threads I made or interested in?
A) There's a Subscribe to this topic on each thread on the top of each thread.
(follow up)
Q) Where can I see all the threads I subscribed to at?
A) All subscribed topics can be found in the User CP]
Sorry ignore this one. I was double checking the FAQ while making this post, and must have missed the one talking about this.
Q) Is there a way for me to exclude tags in the advance search?
A) Yes, put a - in front of the tag. Ex. -Collection of Short Stories / Oneshots
*This question is because I keep running into manga where it's published, and licensed in english, but wasn't scanlated yet it says it is completely scanlated.
I know some of these may seem stupid or kind of obvious, but I do see threads pop up with these sorts of questions somewhat often, and this may help.
Yes yes, I know I make longwinded comments, but that's just me >.<
I should proof read my comments more, but I won't...
So keep in mind I'm filled with typos

Possibly update the FAQ as described here
I didn't see the need to retype it, and as it included a suggestion, I figured it should be there.
But I wanted to make sure ti got in the FAQ list too 😳

Q) What do I do if my post is taking so long to go through?
or
I tried making a post, and the page is blank. What do I do?
A) Open MU in a new tab to see if it went through, if not hit the back button (go back to the previous page on the browser) and then hit post again. Do NOT refresh the page.
I don't know I feel like there's quite a bit of accidental double posts made. Which I think it's because someone hit refresh once, or multiple times. Maybe some sort of note that you shouldn't hit refresh the page would lessen it .

Manga readers love this site. Having something similar for anime would be most welcome.
What I assume is the anime-equivalent sister-site to mangaupdates must be baka-updates (.) com ?
However, registration have been closed for a long time. I have found no way to join.
There are other sites for this purpose, such as myanimelist, but I haven't found one that supports user created lists to the extent this site does.
So a FAQ entry similar to "What is baka-updates vs mangaupdates and how do I join either?" would be useful.

Does the "licensed in English" tag apply to series that had any English releases at any point in time, or does it only apply to series with current licenses?

Current
For expired licenses, that field should be "No", and the field "Licensed (in English)" should list the old company with the expired status in parenthesis, like "SpotToon (Expired)"

Hopefully this is the right place to ask this question/make this suggestion if it's not already a feature.
Is there any way to save a search or a list of frequently used categories/tags? I haven't used this site in ages, but I used to always search up the same tags again and again to look for manga I might want to read, and I remember mining through all the tags you guys have to find the ones I liked. The list is so comprehensive, though, that it would be nice if I could make up my own smaller list of just the tags I already know and like without having to do something like write them up to a text file and save them to my desktop or something.
Is this a feature you have that I'm yet unaware of? If not, I would definitely like to throw it out there as a suggestion!

There is currently no way to save a search, although you could technically just save the URL of the search results

For some months, someone has changed "Status in Country of Origin" of various series to show only the latest volume and not the chapters. It's quite annoying since most series are serialised and published as chapters. So I'd suggest changing the description of when you edit "Status in Country of Origin" to show the last published chapter/volume and maybe even include a year.
Half the point of this site is knowing the latest chapter in Country of Origin. It gives users an idea of whether a series was dropped, is being stretched out, or how many chapters are left.
In the case of webseries, it might also be nice to standardise showing the last chapter of each season's start and end (or is the series isn't divided in any structure mention the end of an ark).
For example, in Heavenly Demon Reborn!:
234 Chapters + Prologue (Ongoing)
S1: 66 Chapters (Complete) 166151
S2: 85 Chapters (Complete) 67
S3: 61 Chapters (Complete) 152212
S4: 18 Chapters (Ongoing) 213
I'm not a fan of the "~" character (I prefer the "-" , but it's just a suggestion, but it would be nice to have a template pinned in the forum to check the formats.
Lastly putting a haitus section might also work since there are usually accompanied by changes in the artists or continuity errors (with the digital format many series without any kind of story planning and overworked authors with a weekly serialisation are appearing).

When I'm editing a series, it has a link that says "See the tag dictionary", but that just takes me to a list of tags, without definitions. That's not a dictionary. Is there a list of definitions anywhere? I'm not always sure what they mean, especially things like the difference between "Smut" and "Hentai".

Those are more what we consider "genres" which you can see here: https://www.mangaupdates.com/meta/genres

I still don't see what the difference is between Smut and Hentai. And it seems both would always be included under Adult/Mature.
There's also Shoujo Ai/Yuri and Shounen Ai/Yaoi. Do we just tag everything that has one of those with both the first and second terms? Or is Shounen/Shoujo Ai for non-explicit stuff only?
