I am 21 years old and untill a whille ago I wanted to get marryed, even though I am not religious I wanted a church ceremony, with tossing the bouquet and all... I even had a plan of falling in love simultaneously and being with her for the rest of my life, living happily ever after...
But now I am quite closed to a relationship so I don't see even a tenth of that happening. If I am to have girlfriend I would like to stay with her for a very long time and propose to her, so she would have the one. Just to let it be know... I am the kind of guy who would propose kneeling down, oppening the ring case in her hand 🤣

Applauds Tps

I think more marriages would last if people put more thought into it and their feelings instead of taking every stirring of lust as love.

Nope. Or at least I don't think so. Someone might lure me into it.

The main question is that you've got to be ready to gamble on your relationship. One chance out of two to "win" or "lose".

i do not think i will ever get married...
my opinion is that you do not need a ring and a piece of paper to prove that you love someone.

beside... you know how expensive i all that... marriage, ceremony, all the people you have to invite,... and on the end divorce.... no thanks

well that is just me... if you want to get married.... be happy and good luck 😀 ... it is very difficult to get right partner in this days

Hahaha, you're missing the point. A marriage is about symbolism. You marry because you're already know you're in love, not because you need to prove it to others. Perhaps I'm just a silly romantic, but I like to believe that symbolically attaching yourself to another for (presumably) the rest of your life isn't a bad thing. It seems it's worse to avoid marriage because it's a hassle that won't work out any way.

It's better to believe in love then to believe in the inevitable failure of love.

Very nicely put, I would say.

I don't intend to marry anyone =___=;;

Marriage is a life time commitment and I am no good at having commitments to anybody. Plus, getting married is like being 'owned' by someoneelse since my family would let me go once I'm married off to some guy..

well that is just me... if you want to get married.... be happy and good luck biggrin... it is very difficult to get right partner in this days

True true!
I'm not all dreamy about romance either... it's too unrealistic for me to handle..
and marriage completely change our lives, Isn't being Happy and carefree the best thing in the world? =D

If your family is that quick to cut ties, I'm not particularly sure that it's a family you should want to be a part of in the first place. Well, at least that's the way I see it.

I'm all for love and stuff, but marriage seems kind of materialistic. Celeberities kind of ruined it for me. Free, unconditional love seems alot more romantic and "symbolic" then a $50,000 ring and a pretty peice of paper. So yeah, I agree with Morje.

I would get married if I believe the person I loved truly loved me in return and is committed as much as i would be to making the relationship last through all of life's unpredictable events. I don't think a marriage contract is something that should be used just to make sure someone stays by making it harder for them leave. I agree with x0mbie that you marry because you already know you're in love. So that means believing that the other person will stay with you. It might not work out in the end but that's just a risk you take in any relationship.

It's cultural.. I don't know about you but I'm from an asian family who sees marriage as 'letting go' of their responsibilities once someone is married to someonelse...

And I'm not really living in the same country with my family now so basically I'm living away from them. I just feel that I don't want to be owned by someonelse..and yea, I'm proud of being a member of my family but my mom seems to set me up with some random guys...and lol, I'm not into guys..i don't like my life being controlled either. That's just me. 😐

Well when i think about that i can't help but think about my grandparents, they loved each other till my grandpa dyed of a stroke, that lead my grandma to get alzheimer, she then dyed of choking, she couldn't take herself any more and would't shallow her food... it was a terrible sight..

Aside for that my mother raised me alone so i never had any other contact with marriage, so it just bring me bad memories.

Not to mention that off lately people just get married on impulse and there a lot of divorces so marriage is no longer what it was.

(no, this not exactly the same i posted in that other thread, you must be mistaken)

trollololol

marriage for me is a must, because it holds a certain honor value in itself, or at least that's what my family believes.
I'm still believing strongly that for me, there will be only one marriage. I hope it stays that way.
It's still so faaar away though.
