I'm looking for a manga where the main or a major character in the series acts stupid and goofy on the outside but on the inside is a complete badass.

Examples: Ares, Vash the stampede, Rain from Meteor methuselah, Abel from trinity blood.

Basically a character that acts goofy, lighthearted, and stupid but out of nowhere can pull out and open up a can of whoopass.

Feed your head.

One Piece Luffy. maybe Fairy Tail with Natsu.

Rurouni Kenshin along with Trigun are the best examples of this.
Black Cat but the goofy part comes later in the series.
Death Note - L kind of fits and Light is more the main character.

I'd recommend...
King of Hell-The main character is always joking around, but he can really kick ass when he wants to.
Hitomi no Catoblepas-Main character has a lot of power, but he doesn't seem to care too much (he always wants to get home to watch his TV shows lol)
Kain-Main character has lots of power, but he is very strange/funny most of the time.
Samurai Deeper Kyo-He has dual personalities.
Togari-This sort of counts...
