I voted for yes, because I was born and raised in Brasil and have political aspirations.

I have an extremist view on the death penalty. I believe that if you kill someone you should die the way the victim did...
Only in cases with concrete evidence

I'm in the middle~
If someone was lunatic and loved to kill people, then he probably deserves to die. But the executioner would kill that dude, so then he would also deserve a death penalty and it goes on unless someone takes his/her own life :/

Quote from Georgeman

@Mamsmilk: You say that in your enraged state, you would kill the criminal without thinking about the consequences. Well, that's how the human mind works. Everyone is calm and can think logically as long as they are not the victims of a particular case, but have them suffer the loss of a relative and they will be unable to listen to reason. Hell, I doubt that anyone would be cold enough to not feel even a slight amount of rage when a dear person of theirs is murdered.

No, I did not say that I'd kill the criminal, I am against capital punishment.
I said that I would kill anyone.

In fact, today there was a school shooting somewhere here in Finland
in some high school.

Wait you confused me! 😕 What exactly did you mean to say? That you would kill someone if they enraged you by killing sb close to you or did you mean to imply sth different?

i think that anyone who kills intentionally should receive the death penalty. the victim's family or friends shouldn't revenge the victim by killing the murderer himself, coz that would make him the murderer...

Think about it and try to build a bridge between those comments. 🙂
The thing is that I would not put the murderer to execution in
rage but that I would kill with no thought if I was enraged.
I wrote from the view of the killer, not from the dead person's
family's.

Thanks for clarifying it. But really, it can be hard keeping a cool head if sb loses ta close person to a murder. In the end however, all that rage is JUST a substitute ffor sadness. Nothing more, nothing less.

I said that i support the policy of the death penalty but i don't like it. Killing is unnatural and to make anyone do it is unjust. However, the logistics of keeping prisoners, especially in the system that we have in the the US, are just impractical. That is the only logical reason for having the policy in the first place, it removes a threat from society... permanently. I am philosophically against capital punishment. But it must be done sometimes for various reasons.

In theory that's how it is supposed to work. However because of the way the US legal system works an inmate on death row has an extremely long list of appeals they can do, which takes the time of legal offices, courtrooms, and prisons. Setting aside the fact they may have been wrongfully convicted, this process takes YEARS to complete and costs the tax payers millions of dollars for just a couple inmates. Many death row inmates just want to live in prison and would stop wasting the tax payer's money if they were just allowed to do so. in the long run getting rid of the death penalty will save the government millions of dollars annually.

I support the death penalty, but only if it's for mass murderers or someone that has been arrested multiple times. There are people the world would be better off without. And yes I support Kira, Death note rules!

Wow I just tied the votes xD. Umm I voted for it but im really undecided. I mean im for it because if you kill someone you deserve to pay for it and they cant keep every criminal alive because well it costs a lot and they are not worth it. But then I think they suffer more if you do keep them alive.

I don't want to bash anyone or something.. 🤣 But I think that people who wants those criminals to suffer, are just the same like those criminals.. Because they have 'evil' inside them too.. So they're no different..

I just noticed that.. 😛
