I support the death penalty but think it should only be used for serious crimes such as rape, child molestation and murder. I belive this mainly for the reason that once dead a criminal can't do any more crimes. But I also think that (for example), in a rape case we should allow the victim to decide if the criminal should get the death penalty, or just go to prison.

I believe no human being has the right to take the life of another.... What would we call ourselves if we lower ourselves to the levels of these criminals?

Life imprisonment for all the serious stuff.... I believe it's much more painful than the escapism provided by granting them death..... If the prisons get full use some unpopulated island.... let the rapists and murderers fuck and kill each other.... we always seem to find new landfills for garbage, so I don't think it'd be hard to find some place in the middle of nowhere to imprison these scum.

If it is thought to be necessary then the method needs to be changed as lethal injection is totally unreliable. I watched an interesting program a while ago it was hosted by a guy who was pro-death penalty but anti-lethal injection. The series was about more humane methods of execution some of them were downright weird but in all of them the person was in a euphoric/happy state before they died.

One interesting method was a modified aircraft that would fly so high that the oxygen gets so low you die. The presenter did it, and the oxygen mask had to be forced on to him as due to the mental high from oxygen deprivation he thought he was fine and not about to die. 🤣

There was also an interview with one of the doctors behind lethal injection, he was presented with data showing how 1in3 the 2nd injection doesn't work and the person is unconscious but feels every bit of pain caused by the 3rd injection. The doctor was pretty blunt in his opinion that if the injections didn't work and the convict died in brutal pain it was some extra punishment by God 🙄 pretty sick coming from a Doctor....

Many doctors suffer from "God syndrome".... especially the specialists.... they think they're better than everyone else just cause they went through years in med school and all that crap.... not all, but most of em in my experience... bunch of gits.

I'm for it but I would prefer a quicker, and cheaper method of the death penalty rather than spending all the money it takes to make that cocktail of chemicals that make up the lethal injection. We shouldn't be spending a ton of money to take care of criminals and I think it should certainly be exercised appropriately. A bullet to the head works wonders in taken care of someone.

It's really a difficult and delicate question.

I'd favor it, but I don't think it's possible to trace a line which divides crimes punishable with death penalty and crimes not. Of course you can say that murder is a crime punishable with death penalty, but every murder is different, there are circumstances that could be aggravating or mitigating for that crime.
But in my country where there is no death penalty (Italy) there are too much delinquency and many criminals can exit from jails too easily (even the worst one). Almost every day in the news we heard that a person with criminal records made a robbery/murder/etc.
In the end, I'm favor, but only if there were strict and clear conditions to judge the cases.

I vote for the lobotomy of violent criminals sentenced to death. Then we'll put that empty shell to use and make them into slaves. You religious people are happy because we spared them. Why does vengeance need to be payed in full?

i'm pro death penalty becuase i don't want to have to pay taxes to keep murderers pedophiles and such alive. they lost their right to have a decent life when they did thier crimes.
