Natsume Yuujinchou

I definitely recommend. For sure. Though it's supernatural, they make the youkai very human, which is actually half of what the main character struggles with and he's trying to find a place to fit in... 😃

Tramps like us!! It was one of my first more adult manga. Its mature but still light and fun. Great storyline and ...... just read it. You will like it!

Hey, if you like shoujo, but you sort of grew out of the sailor moon uniform. Look up josei. Its a more romance based but you are dealing with a realistic story. I really enjoy senien works aswell. They deal with a guy hero dealing with the adult world, finding love or maybe just getting out of his apartment.

Good luck to you! And remember read Tramps like us.

Oooh, yay. I have a list of folders on my computer dedicated to this xD
(most are one shots)

Mugen Dokei --this one made me cry..and I read it YEARS ago and just thinking about it makes me emotional >__< (You may have to read it through more than once to understand..but it's one of those that really envokes thought, and you may not fully understand it, but that's how it's meant to be)

Hotaro no Mori E - another one that broke my heart, but will definitely "stay with me" forever

The Flower that Blooms in You - I don't know if it's "deep", but it's SUPER TOUCHING and just AMAZING. <3333

Fuyu no Hana - DEFINITELY thought provoking. super deep and very sweet....it may need a second read-through in order for you to FULLY enjoy it

Ipaasha - Again, not sure if it's "deep DEEP" but it was FANTASTIC. FANTASTIC

kon no ki konoha - Absolutely brilliant. Definitely a deep storyline. just amazing.

and, lastly, Itsuka no Tsuki de Aimashou - BEATUFUL and tragic

er..actually, ALL of those were one shots. But they are AMAZING. Seriously. (I have HUNDREDS of one shots saved on my computer, and those are the ones that I labeled as "unforgettable brilliance" LOL)

EDIT: I definitely SECOND life, vitamin, and Hana no Namae (I recommend ALL of this author's works, really. He also wrote Mugen Dokei-which I mentioned above)

I second Basara and Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan.
Basara is so beautiful and deep and my favorite manga ever. The love story is fantastic and so are the characters and how they move the storyline along will put you in awe.

Watashitachi no Shiawase na Jikan is also beautiful and achingly sad, it imparts a good message after you get over the tears.

Akatsuki no Yona is pretty deep for me. It has a deep romance and story to it. In one of the latest update, (probably in the 100's) Their romance finally got on to a new level!
